movicol works better than lactulose.lactulose didnt help me at all.any laxative will make the bowel lazy but right now you have a fissure to heal.im taking movicol since 7months and it keeps the BMs soft. You know whats best for you.

Corsi - we here have something called Colace ( Docusate Sodium) and one of my CRS swears it is not habit forming . She said that is why she suggested it for me . I compared it on the net with Milk of Magnesia and got info that Colace was not osmotic laxative. It does not draw water from the colon wall into the limen , just keeps existing water in. So, after reading that I decided to try it and it works great for me . I need only one pill a day ! My stomach and intestines are very sensitive and Miralax caused diarrhea immediately , so if I were you I would try this gentle stuff first. It is actually not laxative, it is stool softener - just makes poop more "pliable" LOL. Check for yourself on the net and if you find different info please let me know !!!
Also, Corsi, I was able to drink ONE glass of vine without any consequences - just make sure that day to drink a LOT of fluids and take extra fiber for dinner (eat lots of veggies and fruits and stuff). When I was able to take Metamucil, I would drink one glass of metamucil with dinner and have a glass of white vine without any problems !!!
Best of luck and HAVE FUN TONIGHT Image

I had a good time :) Hope life will become normal again - asap!

Pain and bleeding during BM this morning, I guess my body just has to tell me that I shouldn't even try to have a good time....hate my butt Image
Cheryl, I don't really know what fibre supplement is? Have only assumed that they must be full of gluten... I take a tea spoon with flax seed with the last meal.
I know Pinky, "have a fissure to heal", we just have to do what we have to do....
I took 1/2 a teaspoon Miralax in water and a fruit when I went to bed. Will take 1 teaspoon tonight... I feel tough aim smileys
Fissy, you are full of information :) best researcher ever! I miss my red wine...
Have a nice weekend everyone Image Image Image Image that's for sureI

We have lots of threads here on fibre supplements. Many don't have wheat or gluten.

OK, I'm home. Had my second iron transfusion today, double dose this time...just waiting for that sweet d........ to visit me :)
Have 2 syringes full of Vaseline waiting for me in the bathroom, so I am ready for war, but not looking forward to it (that would be kinky - wouldn't it??).
What an interesting life...sitting here waiting for d......!

Maybe this time your body won't be caught off guard and will respond better. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Yeah, taken in a different context, a lot of this would be kinky!
I am glad you got out despite it all. Sometimes we just need to let our fissures know who is boss. For example, I wanted to go the Cure concert in June and had my tickets for months thinking surely I would be better by then. Well, was I? No, I was worse. I had had two butt surgeries. But I decided last minute I was going and took some extra pain killers and rocked out. I needed to place a good memory in my heart even if it caused extra pain. Image

Will not be taken off guard today....my butt is full of vaseline Image and I even have more in back up!!
I agree with you Lecia, sometimes one just have to do things and try to ignore Image Good for you going to the concert!!
I think that every time I pretend to be "normal" and do normal stuff it feels so good. Feel that I live a little bit.
