i know what you mean about the worry cinderella....just keep telling yourself it's healed and keep eating healthy and keeping your bms soft. there's no reason you should have a setback if you do everything right! good luck and congratulations!

Just one question. What do you think when can I be sure that I have healed? As you know I would like to conceive immediately. When do you think we could leave contraception and concentrate on our baby project? I am so frustrated because it might take several months to conceive but it can also happen immediately after we leave contraception. Last time I conceived immediately but this time might be totally different because I have so much stress... I just do not want to waite anymore.

In my experience and opinion, one can be sure if for a year one does not have any setbacks with pain and bleeding. Most fissures close in about 8-12 weeks after the LIS , but that area needs about a year to regain it's original strength. My first fissure closed in 9 weeks , but I had a setback at 4 moths post op. - so I would not rush with a baby unless you are absolutely ready to deal with a fissure and pregnancy or fissure and newborn combination. If your answer is yes, than I wish you Happy Conceiving !!!

Thank Fissy. I am just so tired to waite and waite all the time. I already waited nearly two years that my fissure would heal and now I am waiting again to heal from the surgery.
My CRS said that we can start our baby project 24 hours after surgery!! An other CRS said that we should waite two months to be on safe side. I think it would be wise to waite at least 6 months but I just do not know how can waite anymore. However I am not ready to deal with a fissure again so I guess I must waite. This is so frustrating...

Awwwe, Cindy - it must be horribly frustrating. I think that your CRS does not understand the pain and emotional turmoil that fissure brings and can bet it was a male lol, since going through pregnancy and delivering baby and taking care of a baby is major task even for the youngest and healthiest person !!!!
I think that your 6 months period is pretty realistic and that you would by that time pretty much know how your healing is advancing and how good are you able to control setbacks and all !!!
I really hope that all will work out great for you and that you will have a new baby in 2010 - what a great year to have a baby !!! Sounds so "futuristic" ; ) --- 2010

I am in the same boat you are. We want a baby asap too! I had my LIS in August. We plan on trying to concieve in January as long as I do not have any issues between now and then. I did slightly retare at 3 weeks post op. I don't know why it happened, but I have read about setbacks that occur soon after post op - The area just has not had enough time to heal. Starting to try again in January may not be the best thing for me - but really when is a good time? I will always be compromised down there and NOTHING will ever change that. Besides, it may take me a year to get pregnant - who knows.
I hope soon the AFSF will hear pitter patter of little feet with our the babies on the way! :D

Dear Cindy,it must be very frustrating for you.Pregnancy can cause constipation due to hormonal changes esp in the first trimester.you can eat a high fibre diet and take some mild laxative which is safe in pregnancy.Even i would advice you to wait till you heal.even i had plans of trying for a baby after 6-8months of delivery.its been 9months and i dont think i want to try for another year atleast.im not keen on another pregnancy as im too scared but i dont know how i will feel tomorrow.concentrate on healing and then im sure everything will fall into place.

That is great that you have been feeling so much better and feel like you might be ready to get pregnant again. There is no reason to think that it won't happen sooner rather than later and I guess if I were you I would wait a reasonable amount of time and enjoy just feeling normal before you go through all the ups and downs of pregnancy. Enjoy being fissure free for awhile!
