I am quite worried again because I realized that I have some kind of drain. Something yellow staff is coming out from my incision. Not much maybe half tea spoon in a day. Have you experienced something like this?

In my experience sticky yellow stuff means infection. can you get to your doctor? Is it very painful?

If you have that and flu like symptoms then get to your doctor pretty quickly.

It could just be something and nothing, I'm just being cautious. I hope its nothing.

All the best!

Yes - definitely contact your CRS to check the yellow stuff, especially if it something new !!!!! It can be infection and needs attention ASAP ! Better be on the safe side Image

Cindy - Call your CRS just to give you piece of mind. I am shocked there is an issue with the incision. It was so small. Your itching sounds more severe than mine, but that is more than likely due to the hemmies. Is there any pain??? Fever???

how long has it been since your surgery? all my post -op instructions for all 3 of my surgeries have said that some post-op drainage is to be expected. i agree w/ everyone else though that you should call your dr just to be sure.

I have tried to call my CRS but cannot catch him. Now I am getting really scared if I have infection.
I do not have so much pain, the main problems is itch. This morning after BM I was running around our flat because of the itch. I think I have to go and buy handcuffs to prevent myself of scratching my butt... I have never ever experienced this kind of itch.

Drainage would be expected after a fistula or abcess surgery, but not drainage of yellow stuff after LIS !

I think another symptom of infection can be itching, so its probably best just to get it checked out - dont panic, if its a slight infection of the wound then antibiotics could fix it - just dont delay, as infections never get better on their own.

Get yourself to your GP!!!

You were so right. I have an infection! Image
Yesterday morning I had so much pain that I could not barely walk. The whole area around my butt was hot and I had little fever. I still could not reach my CRS. So I had to see another CRS and she confirmed immediately that my incision is infected. I got antibiotics for one week. She said that I am very unlucky because the infections after LIS are quite rare even the area is dirty where the incision is. My healing process will probably take few weeks more than usually because of this setback. This is so depressing. Image
