I just had an urge to poop and it was a bit hard and didnt come out easily.very little came out and not sure if the rest didnt or there wasnt much.its the first time it has happened after LIS.my stools have been soft and comes out easily.dont know wat i ate wrong.maybe the rice with chicken i had yesterday.it hurt a bit while it came out and now im panicking thinking of tomorrow morning Image just when i was starting to feel positive.i wont be able to sleep now.
Lecia-i still feel sore after BMs and a dullache throughout the day.dont know if its normal after LIS.my hubby is training in emergency medicine and he's studying for his membership exams.i try not to disturb him too much but he has to manage work and us along with his studies.my son is 10months now and he's a sweetheart but a fussy eater who doesnt bother to eat.i have to struggle to feed him and thats the stressful part.how are you feeling?it must be so hard for you and kids will get stressed seeing parents in pain.how old are your daughthers now?ive always had health problems since childhood.nothing major but never been healthy. take care:huggies:

Pinky - I am so sorry that your poop surprised you that way :( Image !!! Are you taking any softeners ? Rice can constipate but I found that if I eat rice mixed with veggies (tiny cauliflower florets, peas, chopped carrots , cabbage, or any other veggie cooked together with rice) it does not have that effect at all !!!! My latest favorite is actually basmati rice with turmeric, cloves, cardamom and those veggies. I guess turmeric also help with digestion :D ! I found out that I can achieve anti-constipating effect with ANYTHING if I eat with it veggies or fruit !!! BUT, it has to be at the same seating ! For example - I can have normal sandwich with cheese and eat one tomato and some cucumber on a side and it will be great. Or - I can have cookies and than eat orange and all
will be soft , or I eat a small salad before pizza - again - poop just perfect Image . BUT, I never really tend to constipate , so if you do - you have to be even more cautious Image
Please don't worry about your baby "not eating" - they know when they are full - trust me LOL. The more you insist, the more they resist LOL. I decided not to ever argue or force or entertain my kids to eat and they did just great ; ))) !!! They certainly had phases when they ate a little . I would offer food - if they refuse , it would be taken away and offered later and they would eat it without a problem. I know that it is hard to relax as a new Mom, but trust me - if he is not a sickly child - he is not going to come even close to be starved : ))) !!! They just have those phases and they go away ! I had a phase with my older one when she wanted to eat only Chinese food Image May I add that she was only 9 months ??? So, I bought a wok and made Chinese often, but not every day LOL - so some days she would eat like "crazy" some not so much ha ha. And than she decided she wanted nothing but eggs and bananas - and so forth LOL. Just give him what he wants (except sweets) - he can get more than enough nutrients from one stick of cheese, some grapes and banana and a cup of milk in one seating ! Just trust him - they feel what they need intuitively .
I hope your morning poop will be pain free Image Just make it extra fluffy for couple of days Image

pinky - i just wanted to say, if you ever feel like you're having a tough BM, using an enema might help it out easier. i never thought i'd say this, but it definitely does help! in my toughest times right after surgery, i had to use an enema to get hard stool out and it saved the day. i dump out the saline solution that comes when you buy the fleet enema, and fill it with warm water (my dr even said i could use KY or mineral oil). it breaks up a large poo and helps it come out much easier. just a thought! i know it's scary to insert anything into the sore area, but it's helped me out a lot.

The Bm this morning was formed but not very soft.didnt come out easily as it usually does.hurt a bit and i was soooooo scared.the 2nd BM was a bit soft.i drove for the first time today since 4 months.it was uncomfortable, just 10mins drive to take my son to jolly babies.i decided to go out and start living a normal life.

Fissy-Thanks for the advce.i had very soft rice with lentils and veggies with it for lunch yest(which id made for my son who refused to eat it).i eat a very small portion of rice.had baked beans and potato for dinner.i also drink half a melon juice(fresh melon) and strawberries and bluberries.day before yest,i had boiled peas and potato for dinner with some rice and youghurt.dont know where i went wrong Image i take movicol at night.
ive started to let my son eat howmuch ever he wants.before,i would play or show him things and carry him around if he wasnt eating(my mil made that habit)now i just put him in his chair and give his toys which he keeps throwing down when he gets bored.i dont pick them up anymore.he eats so less.he doesnt open his mouth unless there's a toy or something interesting.he doesnt lay still to change his diaper which is annoying.ive tried giving him something to hold but he gets bored of them soon.any ideas on that?what chinese food wud you cook for your baby?so cute!
how about noodles for us to eat?i love noodles but stopped them not knowing wat effect it will have. Image

Juney-enema does seem scary but it hasnt been that hard.thanks for the advice.

Tabby-thanks for asking.not a great day but coping.been worried about val a lot since last night.she's going through so much.even Lecia is in pain and i get so upset when my friends are hurting.you all have become so dear to me and it hurts me if anyone of you isnt well.praying for you all Image Image

I agree with Fissy. Babies go through stages and will not starve themselves. Does your baby eat finger foods, or baby food? Does he nurse? I think if he still grows and seems happy and engaged in the world then I wouldn't worry. With diaper changes, the key is to have everything ready so you can go zip, zap, boom and not give him as much time to wiggle away. Do you have a mobile you can wind up above his changing table? Maybe sing to him?

I am glad you got out today. Did it feel weird to be driving and doing normal mom stuff. I know sometimes when I am out I think I look normal but inside there is a war going on in my butt and even though I am there I am not really there mentally so much. I hate that.

aww you're so sweet Pinky!
Because my son has aspergers, and doesnt like change, he absolutely hated his nappy changed, and screamed and kicked every time, it was a nightmare! He used to like wooden spoons to bash on little saucepans so I always gave him those whenever I had to change him! Does your babe like eating off your plate? My grandaughter always likes to "steal" food off our plates so we just put more on ours for her, and she doesnt know! Kids always like to do stuff they're not supposed to do!
I think sometimes it doesnt matter what we've eaten, it just happens that its more formed. Then we panic and try and analyze what we've eaten and say "never again" when in reality it was possibly just one of those things, rather than anything being the culprit. Please dont lay awake and worry about next morning- I'm sure worry makes it worse.Could you take some MOM tonight, or just up the softener a little? Or even a spoonful of olive oil could help. Lecia's trick of a hot water on tissue paper just before BM works a treat too! Hope everything is ok in the morning for you! Image

Kudos for getting your life back -- although it may be in bits and pieces! If you can, force yourself to get out -- you are healing now and even though you may have a small setback here or there, you need to develop a "normal" mindset. The more you do, the more you'll get your mind off your butt and before you know it you'll find that you're not preoccupied with butt issues anymore!
Good luck, Pinky!
