Is lactulose an issue since you are lactose intolerant or is this not even related?
Glad you had a softer bm. You know another stool softner you can try is docusate sodium. I used to take that every day for awhile. They even gave it to me in the hospital after I had my last baby. It wasn't hugely noticeable, the difference but I even took it during pregnancy as it was in my prenatal vitamins so it must be pretty benign stuff.
Prunes are great! I only eat one at night but it does help with getting the urge to go.
