you should try hydrocortisone suppositories. that's what i'm using now. i just saw a GI specialist who told me to stay on them twice a day for 4-6 weeks. that sounds longer than most people would say, but even the instructions on the box say to continue for that long if you have severe inflammation. it could help you, so talk to your dr about that! they are specifically used for proctitis and other inflammatory rectal conditions.

Proctitis can result from more than one factor...and the course of treatment will depend on how you got it. Steroids may be called for, or may not. It may be antibiotics you need. It all depends on what form you have. Hopefully your CRS is on top of that and has prescribed the correct regimen. Hopefully you have researched this more than most of the rest of us have and you have a clearer understanding what caused it, most likely the fissure....
But ha, you are lucky, Lars....if it is mild you should get well quickly!

Corsica
To answer your question a blood test and tissue sample.
Both negative

I am doing better and i am going through the hyperbaric chamber program (wound healing specialist). I will make a separate thread so everyone can see the progress. Again thanks for asking. How are you? The foam hydrocorizone is really working well to heal the inflamation inside and out. Will discuss on a separate thread.
Best regards

Well life sucks big time. The soreness and burning is not getting any better no matter what I do.... It feels like I have spent the last year in prison with "Bubba" as a cellmate.
I am feeling so low about this that I just don`t feel to update anymore. It is a battle I don`t seem to win.
I Just wanna rip out my rectum and flush it down the toilett...
Thanks for asking but life is not good Juney :(

What is painful Lars? BMs, or the rest of the day? Is it crippling, or is it just discomfort? Have your fissure healed?
Are you seing your CRS soon?

My bm`s are perfectly normal. I have very big bm`s without pain at all. They don`t feel big either but when I look they can be very big. LIS fixed this. It is after the discomfort comes. Then it feels sore and my whole rectum burns. It lasts all day.
My CRS cannot help me since I don`t have a fissure anymore. It must be the proctitis. But I still bleed maybe once a week but the CRS says that proctitis can do that.
