Just a little update from me –1 week since LIS
I feel really well – no pain what so ever not even from the left bruised and battered side , I feel so lucky to feel this way is such a short time
Was seeing the dishy doc yesterday told him everything was feeling good BUT I have some discharge coming from the skin tag wound, a yellowish discharge ! he wanted to give me oral antibiotics , but me being me I persuaded him to give me some antibiotic cream instead as I am confident this is only a very slight infection external only – he told me to keep an eye and come back if things progressed , so I went with the cream but lastnight it seem to bring on an itch and this morning it was very itchy and still a little discharge, I don’t want to risk anything at this time so I phone my GP back and he gave me oral antibiotics
Better safe than sorry I think – I can only take one type of a/bs so I know what to expect with this one , it wrecks my tummy a little and can also give me diarrhea so am doubling up on probiotics just now
I asked my GP the difference between open v closed LIS his theory is that the closed is done from inside so there is no external inscion :computer:
The wound I am seeing is that from the tag removal – the whole tag has been removed I can see that now The area is looking so good I want to take a photo and use it as my avatar – I AM JOKING !

What antibiotic did he write for you? I hope your GI doesn't get too out of whack but it sounds like you know what do to. I have never really understood why they don't give abs out after rectal surgery as a precaution. It seems like in that area, infection would be more likely since you can't exactly keep it sterile or even protected. I know enough of us have had things turn into fistulas that taking an antibiotic sounds smart to me.

I agree about having A/Bs as precaution esp with open wounds in such a dirty area it would make sense

I have not been online lately, but I have been thinking of you all week and I am so glad that everything has gone so wonderfully for you!
So, your doctor removed the skin tag too??? Geez, everything sounds so much better!
Good luck with everything! Have you been able to sit without a problem? For some reason, sitting was never really an issue for me.

Tag has gone all gone It is a very tender area just now but I am sure it will all be worth the while – Sitting is something I have not done in a week but today I went out in the car with hubby and my special pillow and it felt OK I did feel the left side as discomfort on the drive but that was all , I much prefer laying down sitting scares me
