Oh my goodness Dazzy !!!
First off you are in the best hands there my friend , Mr Smith kicks ass !
I am so sorry to hear the extent of the abceess , fistula gosh what an absolutely awful couple of days you have had – Oh Dazzy :(
Kudos for your explanation – I have no experience of abscess /fistula - KOW but from what I have researched your explaination on how they have dealt with the fistula is spot on !
I feel like getting in my car and coming over to give you a hug maybe make you a cup of tea Image

That's a fine offer, Tabby! Image
If care is taken and A/B (?) you should heal well from the fistula, depending on how severe it was. It makes more sense now, seeing how you were having pain even though your bowels weren't moving.
I think it is all now a matter of resting and recovering and following the Dr.s orders. You are not being given strong painkillers because they want to avoid constipation. Ibuprofen, while not strong, should help a lot.
Get rest, lie around, eat healthy (soft cooked foods, easy on the meat) and I am sure you will be doing much better before the 8 weeks timetable. I have seen lots of folks here on the board heal rather swiftly from fistula surgery and you will too, mate...

That was a lot Darren, but the good thing is that they finally did something. No wonder you were in such pain...
Listen to Kim's advice and treat your butt nicely Image

Oh my goodness, that is just horrible. I am so mad that no one caught this before. How dangerous! I am glad that Mr. Smith was there to see about you. You have been through so much so it is going to take awhile to heal. I'll be praying for you.

Dazzy,
Well at least you finally got the care you needed and are continuing to be supervised and looked after. Is your dressing inside? Nice avatar! Hopefully, I'll be able to see it one day in person.
Take care,
xx

yup tabby its soup as like 9wells famous clear soup lol
how nice is that stuff... lol
cherylk they made about a 1.5 inch cut, just above the anus going toward my scrotum, and is about 5cm deep, yes it gets packed with dressing as it must heal inside ,outwards, today the cut took around 17 inches of 1 inch gauze, it must be packed tight, and coming out of the wound to stop the wound sticking together, if that makes sense, very sore today, uncomfortable, oooo the bloody joys our butts brings to us,

P.S. It just occurred to me why we only have persons here from the US, Canada, and the UK (and formerly Australia). Most of the rest of the world cannot read English. I was just thinking that they didn't have butt isssues! Image
