I think STs are more of a nuisance than anything. They will generally go away on their own after some time. That doesn't mean you have one, and I don't think they interfere with the fissure's healing, either.
Let how you feel be your biggest guide. :)

Thanks. I think for me the pain is better but burns. I hate that and wish I could find a cream/ointment to stop that. I am still using the wheatgrass for what it is worth and this weekend going to try to put together Fiss's potion if I can find everything. I also started using the q-tips to clean.

I know! The burning can be the worst. Combine that with spasms and it can be sheer hell.
Only an AF sufferer can imagine what it is like!
I hope Fissy's cream helps! :)

Luckily the spasms are mostly gone and I only get them very briefly with my period.
Did you use anything that helped the burning? I saw somewhere that Jen mentioned a zinc cream...

I'm sure some type of barrier cream would help.
The stinging and burning was the worst for me when I had loose stools. When my stools were formed, I only got the spasms, not the BM pain and stinging. Bit everyone reacts differently, most boardies here would prefer a loose stool over a formed one, I think....

Thanks. Mine are better now that I have lowered the fiber intake (thanks to you guys!) and are very soft but formed. I always get the burning but its worse when I had the monster BM's. I just wish I could stop what feels like carpet burn all day. The wheatgrass does nothing to stop that. Image

Hey Macy !
I cleaned with qtip in acrobatic mode  I did not insert the qtip just a good and thorough clean where I could see really, at the same time you do not want to cause any irritation, In my opinon I think cleaning with qtip 3+months after LIS is not as necessary by rights you should have healing, I was only so vigilant with cleaning when the fissure was open, I use the shower head to clean now and all is good , I still do mirror inspection everyday to make sure all is nice and clean !
How about using Vaseline as barrier before BMS ? Also creams like anusol hydrocortisone i found worked great for the burn but they must be used sparingly and not overused.

I still feel fissure pain, so I was thinking it was still open? That's why I tried to look at it but cannot see it. It's so frustrating to now know if it's healing or not. I mean it's better but still feels open sometimes and burns.
I will try vaseline as a barrier. Is the anusol the same as preperation H?
