Ok, it looks like I am having diarrhea. I took only half a cup of prune juice yesterday night. Then this morning, I had 3 BMs. All very watery. I had 2 BMs yesterday morning which were all very watery.
I dont know why after this surgery, my 7 months old constipation turned into diarrhea.... I am eating normal food....
Anyway, this is so far my experience regarding fissurectomy and LIS.
On the day of suegery - mild constant pain from wound even if I stay still. Thanks to vicodin, The pain was not too bad. Mild enough to watch TV and concentrate on the show.
2nd day - no pain as long as i stay still. Pain got a lot better than the day before. Even quit taking vicodin still not much pain. Good enough to move around in the house or walk out to dump some trash bags.
3rd day - pain was about the same as 2nd day.
4th, 5th day - pain got even better. I felt no pain even when I get up from sofa.

I am getting frequent stinging. Is this normal? I didn't have much stingings until this morning. Why is this getting worse?

It's +6 days since the surgery. I still had watery BM this morning. But only once so far. I think its clear that i've been having diarrhea since surgery and taking prune juice has been making it worse. It's really amazing to see 7 month old constipation turn into diarrhea in a single day with LIS.
Anyway, this stinging from 3 o'clock position of anus is still there. It gets worse when I move around. I did not have this pain 3 days ago. Do I need to be concerned about this? Could it be related to frequent BM due to diarrhea?
Anyway, overal I am feeling better. The bad bloating, especially after eating, is fading away. (I got this problem since surgery) I got my appetite back and feel a lot more energytic than 6 days ago.
But i can't sit on chair yet. Not sure if I can go back to work in two days.

Alpha, the diarrhea could definitely be causing some stinging, since you basically are still raw in that area (from the cutting and what not) -- diarrhea can exacerbate an already tender area. That's only my opinion based upon personal experience.
I'm glad the overall pain has improved. What kind of foods are you eating? Are you getting plenty of fiber to add some bulk to your stool? In my case, I need to eat plenty of fiber, but maintain a good balance by drinking lots of water, too.
I took a whole week off of work, and just lay in bed after my surgery. Take as much time as you can to get as much healing done as possible before going back to work.
I sure hope things continue to improve with your status.

Have you tried stopping prune juice alpha? That might be it.... give it a shot and see if it a little harder where you want it.

I have a good news and bad news.
Good news is that the cause of diarrhea is milk of magnesia that the doctor told me to take. MOM works too well with me. Just. 3 tea spoon a day gives me real bad diarreah and stomach bloating, loss of apetite etc...
Bad news is that the constipation is still there. More precisely, the loss of urge. Yesterday, I moved very soft normal stool with little straining but felt no urge.
Looks like this surgery did not improve this problem at all.

Day +12 post op.
Finally, I went back work today.
I did not have any trouble with sitting on the chair for 8 hours. So far so good, except the constipation issue. I had BM this morning. 90% water. I guess milk of magnesia I took 2 days ago is still collecting water down there. And food I took yesterday is not there yet.
I still have discharge but in a lot less amount now compare to what i had right after the surgery. Initialy the color of discharge was pink and brown. But now it's brown only. Means no blood maybe?
I sometimes feel extremely itchy down there. But it does not bother me that much.

Whatever you do, don't scratch it! I made that mistake about two weeks after my surgery -- for some reason, it just got itchy as all hell around my anus, and after a couple of days of avoiding scratching, I gave in and just scratched like crazy for about five minutes. And it felt GOOD! Until later on, when I developed big open wounds that stung like crazy and took two weeks to heal up.

ok I won't.
I feel most itchiness right after BM. I don't know why.
Maybe my skin got so soft because I've been having very watery stool for about a month now.
Or maybe they shaved my hair around down there and new hair is growing?????

ok, It's been a month since the surgery.
I still have some yellow discharge...
How do I know if this is normal discharge or pus??? (I no want fistula...)
I also have very light pink mark of blood after BM (only when I strain too much and stool is hard)
I still feel pinching at 3 o'clock position time to time.
Are these all normal???? Am I healing well???
