Hi there all,
On with the self-dilation...
I did not do it yesterday, and had a lot of pain. Today had pain, but then after using the 18mm for just a minute, it has improved for me now with no spasms.
I had blood, as I do have a little most days, but I am still going to keep with it. It is difficult for me to lean forward, but having tried lying on my side, that made it too uncomfortable for me. I suppose I am a little Image nervous of my balance on all fours, but just have to do it and be careful.
I think I will look up the sweet blessed bee magic even though not sure about using it. I tried organic olive oil, and did not react too well to that. How much do you use WOI? (maybe you've already said how much, so will look back just in case :) ))
So want not to be in pain, eating a proper meal and living life as before.

Tiredofpain. I used organic olive oil, but in the end went with the watersoluble lubrication. Going to see if I can get a better one than the ordinary one from the pharmacy. Organic or something.

Sav,
Look for a lubrication that says gel. The water soluble ones don't last too long, but some say they last longer. I bought one of those and it arrived yesterday so I've not had a chance to use it.
With the sweet bee stuff, I just rub enough on to make the dilator slick and then put some on my bottom too.
Doesn't seem to take much.
I lie on my side with one knee bent and angled up. Once I get it in. I read a book for 10 minutes so as not to worry about it. :)

Well I started dilating again today.
I have to say that I do NOT recommend the black rectal dilator kits that come in a set of 5. They have small holes in the end of the hard plastic, and these holes have sharp edges that scrape when trying to insert. Also they are hard to clean effectively because of these holes.
Thank goodness I have my other kit that is actually meant to be vaginal.
The only problem with these is that you kinda have to hold them in or they slowly slip out.
I managed to do the 0.8" size this morning (the smaller size was a 0.6"). It is a weird feeling. A bit like I have to have a BM. But I felt kinda relaxed after.
But I am more sore today. No blood on the tp but feel like I re-tore somewhat with my morning BMs.
:(
I haven't been able to do my long walks as my daughter is home over march break and won't walk that far. I look forward to next week when I can get back on my regular schedule!

Tanya, sorry to hear you had a set back. Hope you feel better soon. Did you do SD before or after BM? I read it's good to try after when the muscles are soft, if they did not spasm.. But not sure I have the guts to try after N.bm.. Someone suggested after shower is another good time.

I got the smallest dilaton set and they also have the small hole at the top. Why the **** is it there for!...I will try to call the support and return, cannot take risk of tearing. I also got the vaginal set and they are super smooth... Have not tried dilation yet though. Waiting for nifedepine to do its job for two more days!... saw another possible lubricant..anyone try this or seen it before...

Hey tp,
I would steer clear of anything with witch hazel in it. I find it irritating to use in a salve for more than a couple days. In a wipe it goes away quickly, but in a salve it stays on the skin for a long period of time.
I do it after BM but before shower as i feel kinda greasy when I am done. If I used the water based gel I bought instead of the olive oil based sweet bee salve, I would be able to do it after I guess.
I just don't have time when I am getting my daughter ready for school to do it right after my BM.
I am so sore today. It sucks. Thanks for the good wishes! I am off to buy an aloe vera plant on the way to my daughter's orothodontist lesson. No rest for the wicked today. Will post if the aloe vera plant helps. I know it won't hurt as I have used them for topical cuts before.
