Why do I need to write my mental lists on paper these days?

I started doing that plus dating it too!!! This started when I turned about 50 :*( I went grocery shopping with my list and next week, I took same list and bought same groceries! This is when I started dating them and throwing afterwards (didn't need toilet tissue/paper plates/napkins for about a month!)
