Day 7
OMG... A week has gone already! This time last week I was on the ward waiting to go down for surgery!
Nice soft bm again... Oh praise thy movicol !ImageImageImage
Still that sore stinging feeling after which pretty much lasts all day... Very different from the fissure pain.
Straight in the bath after to relax. I still feel washed out after a bath... Surely that can't still be the after effects of anaesthetic?
I'm going to go out for a bit of a walk later.. Get that blood pumping.
I didn't realise the effect of having Botox would have on me. I thought.... Oh it's just a couple of injections... It's nothing... But it really has been like recovering from an op... Not a breeze atall.
Am I normal??? ( be kind! )Image

Hi OMB,
I felt exactly the same! When I was getting out of the bath, I felt rotten, tired and weird. Almost had an headache daily. Think this was a side effect from the anaesthetic and my body withdrawing from cutting wheat, gluten etc.. It lasted about 2 weeks. I think you are normal (believe it or not! Ha ha) I thought the same, only a few injections.. How wrong was I. Because I had the hems banded too, it felt like an orange was stuck up there in combination with a cheese grater. That stingy feeling may be from the injection sites. My bottom feels like something is crawling all over it after BM?! It is good to know we have the same sensations and side effects. Image

Strange, I only felt sore the following days. Was kinda besides my self the rest of the day after boto, but only lasted that day, and maybe a little the day after.
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

OMB,
You're SO normal Image - it can take a while to get back to being yourself again, possibly also some kind of stress release going on there now that you've actually had the procedure and that pre-op stress is just flooding out. Just be gentle to yourself and build up your strength slowly with a few short walks when you feel up to it! It sounds like you are doing great with your BM's & have got your diet spot on, so it's just a matter of time, patience and the healing to kick in....Take it easy & big big healing hug to you.....Praying also the sun comes out a bit more for all of us needing it SO badly here in the UK !! Thanks guys!!
Day 9
Well.... Nothing new to report really. Bms are still nice and soft.... But my anus feel sooo numb! It's very strange... And I'm not sure if I like the feeling at all. I sort of don't know if I've finished or not... It's very odd.
Still fell sore... But I think that's not so bad today. Hopefully this week I will turn the corner and start feeling a bit stronger.
May I just say that my husband has been fantastic. He has looked after me so well... Won't even let me make so much as a cup of tea. I have not lifted a finger all week. My youngest is autistic and needs a lot of time... He has done absolutely everything for him too. I am very lucky.

Day 10
Nice soft bm again. Nearly didn't make it... I think maybe it's too soft.. I will start to cut down a bit on the movicol from now on. It's just so hard to get it right!
Bm was not painful... Still numb... After was stingy... But that wore off after a soak in the bath.
I now feel a bit achy... But it's more uncomfortable than painful. I hope this is the start of some improvement.
I remain optimistic and as patient as ever!
