Hi Rachael
Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time.
I just wanted to echo what OMB said. I had major surgery a few months ago and the Movicol saved me from the dreaded post op constipation. Just make sure you take it with you and explain to the surgeon that you need it, when and why. The nurses can be reluctant to give you medication without the surgeon's authorisation.
Good luck!

Thank you my lovely friends. I am going into a slight depression again..... I hate this roller coaster, get me off now...

Update, sore and on the Recto 3x a day. Up to the 2cm now, my head blows off my shoulders.. But it kills the pain.
I want this to end, will I ever be free from Fissures? Aghhhhh :~!@: :wtf:

Oh Rachael.

A month ago you were so positive. Please don't let this setback kill your spirit. You have been able to heal one fissure, and you will heal this new one too. Remember, it's still acute, and much more treatable than a chronic, and you know just how to handle it. I'm sure it will be under control soon.

Yes, of course you will be fissure free, just keep fighting!
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

I second what JHH has said..... This new one is still acute..... Kill it dead with diet and recto.... And if that's not enough... Another shot of Botox... You know it works for you... So there's always that option.

If you feel your sinking and getting low... Try some relaxation, get some reflexology maybe, an Indian head massage?? Keep reminding yourself of the near pain free summer you just had... And that you'll get there again... You know you can do it... And if it all gets on top of you too much... Go back to the docs and get some more of your ADs... You have a lot to be dealing with at the moment.... Stay strong my lovely girl!!

Poor Rach, you've been through a lot worse than this remember.

I've just had a bout of Tonsilitis and had to take antibiotics which has caused some thrush side effects. YEY! But I'm currently sat on a balcony, about 5 steps from a beach in Spain right now with my folks. So it's a nice place to recover. My diet has gone out the window but BMs are ok, need to keep the water and veg going.

Stick to your diet Rach, if anything reduce slightly, definitely don't have an egg sandwich like I stupidly did when I came out of surgery (I was starving and had no clue what was good for my digestion then).

Stay positive lovely girl. You'll be fine.
