Hi sugarspice
Thought I'd come in to track your progress. I see your not doing
too bad at the moment. Looks like your struggling with "plugs" and
you are trying a type of elimination diet.
You have to be careful with this type of dieting as I hear you say
your introducing one new food per day and tracking changes. Introducing
new food per day is a bit too soon to track the change.
The ideal is that if you think a food is giving you problem you should
eliminate that one only. Then you should wait for at least a week or two
to track bm change. Then reintroduce that food after the two weeks.
If you did not notice any change in your bm in the 2-4 week of eliminating
and reintroducing that food than its likely not the offender so you
can concentrate on another food.
That's how I found out I can't handle too much floury foods like
bread, although I love it.
Remember eliminating one at a time is best so your not depriving yourself of
valuable nutrients. And it always good to consult with your DR. or dietitian for
better advice.
For me the floury foods like bread, crackers, muffins were way to binding.
All too often I would eat these alone with a stomach full of insoluble hoping
things would "come out alright. Intriguing to note, cereal food like All-bran I
really do not have problem with perhaps because I douse it with plenty of
insoluble cancelling foods like milk.
A neat trick that seems to help stop the plug is to eat your soluble first,
the idea being that the soluble food will enter the intestines first and thereby
alleviating the "plug".
So with me, nowadays when I do eat bread etc, I make sure after I have taken in
something like milk, which acts as a great laxative for me.
Good luck to you, you'll get there sugarspice.....
