Sarah, I don’t know how I would manage my two kids right now without help. Sending you so much luck that you heal quickly! I understand your frustration as I’m supposed to take my two young ones on a 24-hour trip to Jakarta in a month to rejoin my husband who’s working there. I’m worried I may have to postpone it because of my possible retear and slow recovery. Did your CRS tell you that this surgery would be a breeze? Mine basically did and now I’m so mad that it’s taking so long to heal. It’s debilitating :-(

As for fiber supplements, I actually don’t take any because they bulked up my stool too much. I rely on Miralax and magnesium to make things soft. And I hope you didn’t hurt the fissure too badly! It’s frustrating isn’t it? Aren’t we supposed to be able to have normal poops now? Like my fissure was healed and a normal (although urgent and fast) poop caused it to reopen. I don’t get it. Why are we stuck on stool softeners for life? It makes me mad.

I feel your pain. My kids are 3 and 8 months so no rest once hubby goes. It’s so hard and ruined my time with them.
Yep I was led to believe that it would be a few days! I’m 2 weeks in feel like this hell is never going to end x
One day fingers crossed we’ll lead normal lives xx

I'm a little past 2 months (fistulotomy) and I'm still having a hard time.

Wish u best wishes ladies. I pray for all if us here bless u all.

Yes I cut out the fiber supplements it too was making my stool too large and bulky. Trying a mix diet some fruits and veggies high in fiber as well as meats and healthy fats.

Mike, that sounds like my diet now too. It seems to work for a lot of people on here to cut back on bulking insoluble fiber and go with meats, healthy fats and soft veggies, with a healthy dose of Miralax.

I still haven't been able to get back to 1 bm a day though. I am going for a bm once every 2-3 days. I'm concerned.

I hope it's due to stress, inactivity, and the meds (antidepressants, prior antibiotics) I'm taking and not some sort of damage to my nervous system in my gut :(

How is the baby? Are you still with your parents?

I've been staying with my parents here in the countryside for a month now. Still trying to get well.

Best wishes Preggo.

Hi DaButt, I am day 5 and I had this stool problem till yesterday. I tried a hack which worked. You can try. First thing in morning - Take 1 glass of warm water, put in 2 spoons of all natural psyllium husk along with 1 large spoon of castor oil.

Last thing before bedtime : repeat.

I am sure you will get that dreamy toothpaste consistency.... Let me know

By the way, are you sure about not using ibuprofen ? My prescription pain meds weren't working so I started taking ibuprofen 400 MG :-(

Day 5 and razor blades still !!

What is your diet like Jai?

What sort of thing so you like to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner?

Hi Mike,

I take the Psyllium Husk and Castor Oil mixture as soon as I am up.

Breakfast is usually 1 papaya, a glass of warm milk mixed with 2 spoon full turmeric, honey and clarified butter (also called Ghee)

Mid Lunch - a hot bowl of soup (Beet root + tomato +carrot) with salt and pepper OR 2 bananas

Lunch - Rice and Yellow cereal porridge with a cup of curd.

Brunch - An apple with a glass of chilled lemon water infused with rock salt (to avoid flatulence) Or a cup of green tea (unflavored)

Evening - A glass of unfiltered fibrous orange juice

Dinner - Wheat bran and Oat flour bread with sauteed veggies and a glass of salted buttermilk

Bedtime - Psyllium Husk and Castor Oil mixture

Hope this helps. This schedule was given by my lovely dietician who has faced an LIS recovery herself. But I am planning to reduce my intake as all this making me poop multiple times a day, kind of 3/4 times. May be it's the weak sphincter or medicines or food, I don't know! But am tired of pooping pain 4 times a day.

But I hope this helps you start a good BM

You're eating too much high fiber.

Try some lean meats and a variety of healthy fats (from other plant and animal sources).
