ahh this lentil recipe sounds divine.....i can't wait to try as i love things with cilantro too!
steve, by all means leave out the cayenne powder and go light with the chili oil. if you maybe just give it a tinge it will be okay.
otherwise, just put in the brown rice flour any other types of spices that you like or keep it simple.
i swear these seitan nuggets would make you want to forget about mcd's nuggets.........it's like eating chicken but it's not!!!! and it's good for you too.

Guys,
I found this thread, and instead of starting a new one, I thought we could build on this by posting any recipes. I just read some previous ones that sound pretty good!!
At any rate, Fiss had asked me previously about a chocolate cookie recipe that I still have not been able to find. However, in my "Women on Weights" class that ends next week, we have each been sharing a recipe weekly, and one of the persons in the class shared this one this week and it was very GOOD! For Steve and NG (in particular) that seem to be craving junk food, this has a chocolate chips in it, but otherwise seems pretty healthy and might be worth a try to satisfy a sweet tooth:
BAR COOKIE
1 2/3 cup Natural (no sugar added) applesauce
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3 cups quick oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup chocolate chips
Spread into a 9x13 pan (sprayed with Pam)
Heat oven to 325 and bake for 30 minutes, or light brown
Makes 24 servings
Calories 180
Protein 3 grams
Fat 4 grams
Carbs 37 grams
Let me know if anyone makes it and likes it! I plan to use regular oats as that is what I eat every morning!

This is a funny recipe.. LOL Image

:Cat Poop Cookies:
A realistic shocker of a cookie. These look like cat poop and are served in a tidy litter box setting. Mix and match the additions of chocolate or butterscotch chips, ramen noodles (roundworms), coconut (tapeworms), corn or peanuts depending on what effects you want to achieve.
Ingredients
1/2 cup honey
2/3 cup butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 (32 ounce) package wheat and barley nugget cereal (e.g. Grape-Nuts™)
Directions
In a medium bowl, heat honey in the microwave until bubbly, about 1 minute. Stir in the butter until melted. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the wheat flour and cocoa; stir into the batter until well blended. Cover dough and chill in the freezer for 1 hour or several hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Roll dough into small logs of random length and shape like poops. Roll the poops in the nugget cereal and place them 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until firm. Serve in a disposable cat litter box on a bed of nugget cereal, with a cat litter scoop. I hear you get lovely effects by decorating the box and scoop with melted chocolate or pudding!
Incase you were wondering it's a high fibre dessert so it won't constipate you!

Thanks for sharing, Steve!! I might try that one. Here is another one--I might take this to our WOW class this week:
Orange Frosty
Prep time: 5 min. Makes: 5 servings
2 cups ice cubes or slightly crushed ice
1 cup light vanilla soymilk
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 can (6 oz.) frozen orange juice concentrate
1. Place all ingredients in blender. Cover and blend on high speed 30 seconds or until smooth.
2. Pour into glasses. Garnish each serving with orange slice. Serve immediately.
I think a banana could be added to this for extra fiber and a different flavor combination.

Thanks, Steve, and also for making your recipe USA friendly as we are not on the metric system over here, as you no doubt know! :D

Guys and gals,
Here is a fissure-friendly recipe (I think) and a way to get more fiber into a diet:
Easy Hummus
Ingredients:
1 (15 oz) can garbanzo beans, drained, liquid reserved
2 oz fresh jalapeno, sliced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 tbsp lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
Directions:
In a blender or food processor combine garbanzo beans, jalapeno, cumin, lemon juice, garlic, and 1 tbsp of the reserved bean liquid. Blend until smooth.
Serve with baked pita chips or baked tortilla chips
2 tbsp of Easy Hummus has 8 grams of fiber!
Also, today I saw in Walgreen's that there is an Ensure pudding which would be a tasteful way to get extra calories and fiber into one's diet. I only saw that today and did not see the pudding form when I was drinking Ensure!

I like the sound of that recipe cheryl, there isn't one thing in the ingredients that I don't like! Image
