GG, Sometimes just simply drinking alittle warm water helps digestion. Very natural and calm for your system, (you can add a pinch of salt/lemon) also Preferable pure spring water with some natural electrolytes, silica etc. Worked well when I was pregnant all of those years haha, with my tricky digestive system and could not take anything. I believe since we have had so much pain for so long it's hard not to notice everything since you can't really do much to distract yourself activity wise. But soon it will happen, I can do more week after week slowly but surely. The worst is almost over:) Hope you and everyone have :sunny: a blessed Easter... no matter what!!!

looking at your history you had a lot of D up till a few days ago and no solid meals. Your intestines are prob just cramping up from all the activity and then lack of. Maybe just start getting a little toast, or cereal, or plain pasta in to give your stomach something to digest and begin to move a long. Gas x helps with gas pains ox

Thanks so much guys. I'll try that mamafizz!

Despite actually eating something last night and taking stool softner and senna I still have not gone. Really getting worried, I just don't want to go back to the hospital, it makes me feel horrible to even go there.

Took a max dose of the laxative this morning, hopefully it will work over the day, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't what else I can try...I guess the pico salax? I'm guessing that's what the doctor will recommend next anyways.

Fingers crossed. I know how awful a trip to emerg is, so hopefully you will move those bowels soon, and not even have to consider going to the hospital.

Thanks guys. Hope your doing ok zinnia.

Still nothing but more stomach cramps. And of course it's Easter weekend and I can't call the surgeon until Tuesday. I'm wondering if I should just do the pico salax tomorrow or wait. I'm so tired of this, every time I think I can go its just gas. I can't believe I ever had a diarrhea problem, friggen ibs won't decide what to do.

Not sure what to take tonight...I guess another full dose of laxative and stool softner? I would try a different laxative but the stores aren't open.

Oh no Hun
Are you eating a bit more Hun....I would leave the colonoscopy prep as a very last resort. Just stick with the stool softener and laxative if there is something in there it will come out Hun.
Do you have any apple cider vinegar as my friend puts a few spoonfuls of that and some coconut oil in warm water when she is constipated.
Are you still in pain from the op or is that starting to lessen a bit

Thanks for answering mbp. I am trying to eat more but i think it's just making me feel worse. No apple cider vinegar or coconut oil in the house now - it always seems as if the worst happens during a holiday.

The pain unfortunately is not improving much, although I'm haven't taken morphine for a couple of days to remove the constipating effects, so it's hard to tell.

Just feeling very down, depressed, and angry. I'm starting to give up on getting my life back, and it's getting really hard to even get out of bed. I don't know how people deal with this for years, it must take some strength

No wonder your feeling down Hun I think I hit my worse spot 4 weeks after my LIS when everything seemed to go wrong and the pain was just too much.
Keep going GG it will get better you did the right thing it just happens that sometimes our bodies don't co operate for a while. I'm sure in a few days after you have had a BM and your digestion sorts itself out that you will feel so much better
Take care Hun
