I did try baths when the fissure where in the acute stages but didn`t feel it made a difference...I have borrowed a big plastic basin from my parents and will try it again.
The last couple of days I have started to have terrible itching from the fissure. I realy hope it`s the healing itch. My bms have gotten much better after I started with benefiber :) but pain still is severe.
I will try not to freak out about this and take week for week insteed of day to day :)
Today it is been 2 weeks since surgery.

Itching is a good sign-I know I was always kind of pleased when I got that feeling even though is can be aggravating. Yes take it one day at a time, that is all we can do!

Well, if you have never had the itch before, then it is almost certainly a healing itch. Now is the time to keep everything there as dry as possible. Some have used blowdryers after a bath/shower/ I used talc and it helped a lot! I had a tremendous, Gosh-awful healing itch that really drive me up the wall!!!
Sorry your pain is still severe, hopefully that will continue to improve! Do you have anything to take for it?

sorry you're pain is still very bad. It will get better, it just takes its time. When you look back on each week, you'll see the small improvements that you're making, and sometime soon you'll look back and this will all just be a nasty memory. Hang in there, I hope you feel better very soon!

Lars - when is your post op. checkup ? I think if you would see your CRS and he would confirm that all looks fine, you might get boost out of it - I know it always helps me. Is your swelling going down ? It should start going down faster from this week onward and that will ease pressure in your anal area even more and help with fissure pain. I am so sorry that you can still feel it Image - but I did too this time around and it got better and better every week after first 2 weeks of pure hell. I did have many more things done, though, but in any case, first 2 weeks are always the worst .
If you have no extreme redness and foul smelling discharge you do not have to worry about infection - actually you had infection many years ago and you know how it looks and feels , so I am pretty sure that you are on top of that issue.
Take baths since they improve circulation, help with swelling going away and with keeping that place very clean.
Happy healing Image
