Tres chic, monsieur Gareth!
Speaking of dog butt wiping. When Molly was a puppy I used to wipe her butt after she went potty-is that TMI or what? I guess being a mother I am used to all that kind of stuff!

oh lecia, i find myself having to wipe bear's butt outside because he likes to rip into his soft plush toys and eat the cotton...and well, then he gets cotton poo hanging out of his butt and he freaks out!!!! so, i have to pull it out and wipe his butt!!!!
are you crate training molly now? she must be a little closer to getting her spay isn't she?

Just one question... I have a lot of bleeding coming from my anus. It is not realated to having a bm. It happens sometimes then also but it just bleeds during the day a lot. When I wipe with a paper it is full with blood. When I see down there it comes from the fissure site. Is this normal ? I never had this before LIS. Should I just be glad because it now comes a lot of blood to the fissure?

Ask your CRS Lars, or your GP.
Take care :)

Lars-- I am so sorry to hear that : (. It must be disturbing. I never had bleeding from a fissure site after neither of my LIS surgeries or fissurectomy sites - maybe some pinky stuff was draining for a 2 weeks or so, but it was really miniscule . I would definitely go and see the CRS as soon as possible. It especially worries me that it is not connected to BMs and that you said "A LOT" of it .
Please take care and see the doctor Image
It could be nothing, we are all different, but it is always better to check !

If it just came from out the blue I would definitely get it seen about. If you have been bleeding on and off then maybe I would worry but if it just started I would get it seen about especially since it is happening spontaneousy and not with a bm.
Molly gets spayed in a couple of weeks. She will no longer be a ****! :D Once I got her groomed it was a lot easier for her butt to stay clean since they shaved the area but when she was little it would sometimes get matted and I would have to wipe and cut her hair. I am a doggie butt hair stylist now!

you had fissurectomy right lars? if so, then there should be an open wound so bleeding can be expected. my open wound took about 4 weeks to close, and i still have a small piece that hasn't closed together. i get bleeding occasionally at BM now. keep some gauze on the area, along with an ointment. call your dr if it seems like a huge amount of blood though. i'm surprised your follow up isn't sooner, you might want to see him in the next week just to make sure things are going as they should. i saw my dr at 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and i'll go again on tuesday which will be 6 weeks.

Yes I had fissurectomy. The bleeding has not been present today but severe fissure pain has been present all the way. My CRS is a 3,5 hour drive away. I need to get better before I can drive..Are your pain better now than before the surgery Juney? Mine is just the same 19 days post op.. I guess a colostomi bag is my next step if this surgery fails.... Im am feeling so low I just can`t bescribe it... :(

Lars,
Don't give up the ship. You need to be patient and allow for healing to occur!! Could someone drive you to see your doc? I know the idea of a colostomy bag is an inviting one when there is fissure pain!
