Aaaaaaawe - you are welcome buddy

- you made my day !!! Nothing makes me more happy than knowing that I eased somebody's pain, if even for a second.
Yes, dear Lars, it could be the swelling - absolutely !!! Also, I was in PERMANENT spasm for 2 weeks pot op, my body just reacted that weird way

and I was wondering also how was that possible after TWO LIS surgeries. Well - it was

! I was also sure that my swelling was down when I saw my CRS after 6 weeks and he said NO ! And made me have my soaks again - I stopped using them since it was already SIX weeks post surgery

!
If you were hyper tonic - and you know you were even without your CRS telling that to you - your fissure had very hard time healing , so you definitely are better off now - there is no doubt about that !!! Now, your fissure has much better conditions to heal and it will - it just needs time . I know that every day seems like a year - for the 2 first weeks I was thinking I will kill myself - my pain was just unbearable. After 2 week appointment my CRS explained to me that I had that strange reaction that usually happens to patients that had hemorrhoids removed and that I should take pain medication and Valium too to relax my sphincter. I do not like to take meds, but after he "gave me a lesson" I did and it helped a lot. Not only my pain was less , my sphincter relaxed somewhat and it was easier to move around and get out of the house and that helped psychologically with dealing with the situation.
So, maybe you reacted same way

, and if you did not have those baths regularly, swelling is most probably there - and don't now beat yourself up with that - just start taking baths now - to speed up the process. Swelling would go away eventually by itself - but this way we help our butts to heal faster :) ! Hot baths make our blood go "down" and speed up micro-circulation and removal of all inflammatory
substances that accumulate in the injured tissue. Please don't laugh, but I find that putting a small cotton ball soaked in warm chamomile tea on the anus during the day helps tremendously too. Chamomile has many healing properties - you can check it out by Googling. You see, herbs were used for thousands of years for many afflictions and they really work. Chamomile is so much respected in the area where I grew up that there is a saying : " Bow at the Chamomile when you see it by your path" . Don't use it only if you have allergies to the ragweed . Why not try and see :) ?!? It helped my swelling and inflammation very much. You can use it whole day if you want, or just after BM for 20 min, you can even sit in sitz-bath with chamomile ; ))) !
Now - if your fissure "never heals" , which I doubt will ever be he case - but just to ease your mind - they can do so called "anal flap" surgery. They use the skin from your anus and "flap" it back and close the fissure - like "skin transplant" , sort off. It is not done as a first choice since it asks for hospital stay and very skillful CRS which is very expensive, so LIS is more often done. You can look into our "references" topic line - I posted couple of medical papers that talk about all possible methods. Don;t ever loose hope - you just tried one of them and it will work - unfortunately it needs that damn
time
and it is soooo physically and emotionally draining : ((.
I really feel for you, to be alone and deal with this crap, and that you have to wait 6 weeks to see your CRS

- you are actually doing VERY well taking everything into consideration !!!
Just hang in buddy - and try all the things I suggested ( meds, tea, baths...) , it IS booooring , I know - and days are sooooo long, but all will be good at the end - you will see
