ahhh that healing itch!!!!
have you tried to scratch it????? it's the best when you scratch and you get this instant relief all over your body - a relief that you just can't replicate in any other way.....
that's great news lars!!!
hang in there.....

Perhaps everyone's itch is different, and I hate contradicting my dear friends, but the worse possible thing I could do when I had my healing itch was scratch it. Yes, it gave instant relief, but a few seconds it was right back and worse than ever. I learned not to scratch and that was the one thing that helped with it the most!

Whatever you do, please resist the urge to drag your bottom over the carpet like a dog does. Image

LOL no I will not do that :) Haven`t gotten the post op. checkup date in the mail yet. But my CRS talked about six weeks after the surgery. The last couple of days has been okay. Little to no pain in the evening but always fissure pain after a bm but this subsides after a couple of hours. Sorness, itch and tickling continues :) I hope it soon goes away.

I don't know which one to comment here Image Happy's ecstatic "scratching it", Kim....or Lecia :)

I agree with you, after the wonderful feeling you get if and when you itch you get Image pain afterwards. I heard about a man who had a terrible itch because of hemorrhoids . He used a tootbrush up where the sun doesn't shine... it disappeared up there, and he had to go to the Emergency Room :)

I had a cat once who did that Lecia. He came in, sat down lifted his backpaws and dragged himself over the carpet. Really gross as he left brown stripes on the carpet. So don't do that Lars :D
Good for you Lars that you are healing!!

Although not fissure related - just want to say that if your dog or a cat does that often , you should check their feces for parasites Image This does not apply to you Lars LOL
Glad to hear you feel somewhat better. I never had the itch Image - not first nor this time either - now I feel left out Image
Best of luck on your post op - it would be in about 3 weeks than :) !!!
Happy Healing and hang in there buddy !!! Image

Yeah, I think just getting the thumbs up from the doctor will reassure you that you are on the right track. I know I always felt much better mentally!

But Lars may *have* parasites!!!
Just kidding, Lars!!! Image
Yep! The dog could have worms, or could have an impacted anal gland, or could just be wiping him/herself! Nothing like good-old carpet hygiene!!
