Hi MPB glad it was a better day. Yes it's Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot rolled in to one of the BMs and the colons. Distinctive honor. Except that I probably share it with you if that's ok!
Glad shopping was fun. It's a busy week will check in with you in a couple days.
Take care friend .
Hugs

Oh yes I don't mind sharing hopefully we will solve the mystery together,
Had another good day yesterday but had no BM so that's always a good day lol, really busy at work so no swim or gym for me till Wednesday.
Had a quite a stressful day yesterday so was pleased and surprised I wasn't on the toilet all night. I did take an extra psyllium late in the evening though so am wondering if that made a difference. I don't think I will do that every day though as I don't personally like eating after 8 and I'm not sure what it would do on an empty stomach.
Really wish I could see my CRS to find out what is happening down there would be good to know if it's healing a bit. I know it's still there especially on the days I go more than once but would still like to know lol.
Hope you have a good week HTD and your fissure behaves while your busy

Wonderful! The good days are welcome. I am glad it's been quiet on the fissure side of things and I am confident by the symptoms that you have made progress.

The thing with these fissures is we probably sense what the CRS is going to say. So don't worry about missing out on the appointment.

Hope both work and the fissure treat you right!

Well went again today BM Bristol 3 no pain during just a prickly feeling and only about 10/20 mins of discomfort after. Really wish I could have a single BM like this every day I think the stretching must help my sphincter that is used to holding in what is often just liquid.
I have been sat down all day at work and can feel a stretching stinging pain in the posterior position where my fissure is feels like when you pull at a cut...not happy lol.
I just hope I have healed enough for the CRS to agree to LIS as I refuse to live in the amount of pain I was in before. I guess after a year I'm getting used to the stinging and burning and could live with that but not the spasms.

Hello MPB, I know that nagging feeling of the fissure . Glad you are a having those single formed BM that work so well for you. Yes I believe the progress you have had has been steady. I have every faith that despite minor ups and downs the overall trend is that you are better to the point of your next steps. Log you diet carefully for this last 3 days as it seems to be working for you. Yes definitely spasms and pain should be a thing of the past . Hugs

Well no BM yesterday so that was lovely lol no massive awareness of the fissure apart from when sat for long periods at work. Know I will be going to the toilet today at some point so fingers crossed for the magic Bristol 3. Swimming and gym today too.
I wish I could just eat the same and expect the same result but I think my IBS responds to my emotions too so I rarely get the same result. I am still at the stage where I eat pretty much the same things whilst trying new foods every couple of days. I have even tried small amounts of chocolate and have been ok with that. I guess I just want to see that I would be ok to join in with normal food activities. Will never have milk, ice cream or yoghurt again as I know these set my IBS of really bad.
Well off swimming and hoping for a nice BM lol

Owwch Owwch Owwch,
3 BMs in an hour all Bristol 4 all sticky all left a residue I am sure I have either torn my old fissure or got a new one...serious pain level 6/7 and a few spasms in there too...so not happy at all I did nothing different only my stress was higher as hubby was home.
Not in as much pain this morning but still sore...I get so stressed when he's back as I know he will want sex so I'm desperate to try and make my bowel behave that I send it into overworking then he gets annoyed and it gets more stressed...oh the joys of a fissure.
Well I'm hoping that this hasn't ruined my chances of having LIS although right now I think I would insist that they do it even if the cut is "too long" as I would rather risk incontinence than 8 hours of serious pain after a BM.
No sleep last night too much pain even after codeine and a Valium so not sure how much use I will be at work today...plus I now have a very angry and sulky husband. Oh well off to work. Seriously praying for a few days BM free

Hello my dear, the bad days always come with their frequency that's unpredictable. I was there 3 days ago and I have slowly improved . It don't think it's a retear - it's that residual that keeps bothering the fissure. First remind yourself better days will come , then commit to extra patience with yourself for 3 to 4 days. I don't think tomorrow will be worse but take a breath and stay calm. I KNOW there has been some healing and it will continue - with a few setback along. Stop loperamide if you feel there is residual , search for plug effect in this forum and see what works for you to help with residual
Hugs to you - stay strong, stay hopeful we will heal

Thanks HTD,
Been no better much more pain after a BM I have only has 2 but again they are sticky and leaving residue up there that a cannot clean off. I'm contemplating no food for a few days...but can never be sure how my bowel will react to that.
I'm thinking of giving it a week and if the pain is still this bad phoning my surgeon and asking to see him....I needed LIS anyway so why wait till October if the pain is going to start and increase again.
Quite annoyed as I had started to feel a lot better with very little pain, I just can't figure out how to keep my BMs once a day and a Bristol 3. I ate the exact same things that produced the good BMs only it didnt work,
Well no sleep tonight as in way too much pain at least a 7 and I think I may be going to the toilet again soon.
Healing seems a long way off....I would happily settle for a level 4 pain right now

Dear MPB
Please go ahead and call the CRS - what is to lose? I think seeing him/her early might help regain some confidence. It is never easy o slowly get back after a bad day. There are so many issues - mental and physical involved. Atleast knowing there is a CRS appointment in the horizon builds some confidence. I know exactly what you are going through and am on the same path - slow sometimes even unsure. Have you increased the pain medicine. Ibuprofen ? what works for you? Is it more difficult to apply the nitroglycerin internally with the pain. It is ok to apply it eternally. I have applied some olive oil to my behind and it seems to soothe a little.
do you need to take a few days off from work?
stay strong - its very very hard but you WILL be better.
Hugs and more hugs
a little wipe away of your tears if you have any and then hugs again
Best HTD
