I was in hospital overnight, and had surgery in the morning, the pain didnt hit until very late that night. They gave me some painkillers and then it just settled down ok.
I hope you feel better this morning?

No BM yet, I am really stressd out of because of this. Normally I go every morning...the thing up my butt freaks me out. Will not relax before I have had the first BM.
I took 2 paracetamol last night and slept like a baby till 07:00. Took 1 Ibux and 1 paracetamol in the morning. Pain is more present now, and I feel some stinging/pinching from the left side where they did the LIS.
I am a bit Image Image Image Image Image today. Really hate the thing inside me, it must be a bacteria trap... Can it hinder BMs?
Oh my....

Hey Corsi !
Don’t panic – that packing will come when it is ready – I think your poop train will be delayed seeing as you had such a clear out these last couple of days
I know it’s a scary but that packing shouldn’t hinder a BM just go when you feel the urge and don’t force anything – stay calm it will be Ok Image
Maybe with your next meal today have a coffee and see if that helps the chugging train !
Glad to hear you haad a nice sleep Image

its normal to panick before your first bm.even i didnt have a bm till that evening and i freaked out the whole day inspite of everyone's reassurances.i agree with tabby.have a meal and settle down.the pack will come out and wont hurt.
have a sitz bath and keep the area clean.i can understand what you are going through Image

Hi Image Corsi,
Sending some positive thoughts your way.... :paddysmiley1:
You made it through the surgery now on to the healing.

When your body is ready everything will come out. It sounds like you are doing all the right "stuff".
Take care, dear.
Thinking of you

Yes, like Jo said, it will come and since you didn't do the normal things the day before and you cleaned out your pipes I wouldn't expect you to poop today. I can understand your concern about the packing but it will come out soon enough.
After I had anal surgeries I took mineral oil and prune juice when I didnt have a bm for 2 days and had been eating. The prune juice worked within 30 minutes. But really I don't think you body has anything ready to poop yet. I know how anxious you are to get it over with. I felt the same way.

i didn't poo for 3 or 4 days after all 3 of my anal surgeries if i remember correctly. i was definitely freaking out. i took all kinds of laxatives, mineral oil, prune juice etc but it still hurt on the way out. i think it's the GA that backs up your body, in addition to the painkillers.
this past surgery i became impacted afterwards b/c i took so many pain killers the first 2 days. i had to do a mineral oil/KY jelly enema on my dr's advice. NOT FUN. mine is definitely a horror story, so my advice to you is take as much MOM, mineral oil, prune juice etc as you can to make yourself go before too many days pass. impaction/constipation after anal surgery is miserable.
i wish you lots of luck in the next couple days. you'll get thru this no matter how tough it seems. hugs.

The "thing" came out yesterday, and that felt good because then I knew I could use Xylocain when I had a BM at least...
I have been a good girl and taken both Paracetamol and Ibux, regularly as prescribed.
I had a BM today and I am still shaky now - a couple of hours later!
Will not go into details, but it included Xylocain, a micro enema and hot water - yucky! Since I have used so much painkillers (both gel and oral) I cannot really say anything about the pain level...I just feel numb and sore now. I will not take more painkillers now before tonight or before the pain is intolerable...as I said I am really shaky...this was a very very earthshaking experience for me. What we do to survive this fissure/BM torture...

But after every surgery I've had, anal or otherwise (so that's about 6 or 7 and I'm only 30!) I have always tried to move around as soon and as much as possible to get that horrible GA out of my body.
It's also important to remind yourself that the anesthesia can affect your emotions for several days after the procedure. You may have mood swings, or not feel like yourself, or have trouble remembering things. So try to relax as much as possible because all of this will pass in time.

They told me to try to be active and move around and I have tried and will try, but it's more like doing stuff in the house...I am not going for a walk yet :)
I loved the GA, hated that it was over...but you are right, I feel so strange now Amy, it's like I am not myself...I feel strange. I don't know much about GA....I'm an ignorant.
Image everyone for being there, it's so important to get support.
WOW I do feel strange, shaky or something dizzylike.
