Oh, Corsica, it's going to be OK! I don't think Movicol is the type laxative that would cause heavy dependency. I'm sure if you are dependent, it will be an easy cycle to break. But I hear your frustration and know it must be very disheartening!
It will end, in fact I think it is ending. Your body needs to readjust to "normal" dietary intake and it will! Look at how far you have come... Image

corsi - i weaned myself off of MOM after almost a year of regular use. i think that's similar to movicol in that they're not stimulant laxatives. it is possible! cut your dose down VERY slowly, over a week or 2...just a little less each day or every couple days. even if it takes a month. make up for it w/ extra fluids and a super healthy diet of veggies, oatmeal, bran cereal, fish, etc.
i understand your frustration. i've recently started taking miralax and am scared to death of becoming dependent on another laxative. it's hard to get off it, but you can do it and all will be ok with your digestion! just give your body time to adjust to lower doses and eventually none..

avatar and sig were for you and Kim :D
I am just fed up with all these problems, it's such a mix of pain, uncertainty, hating laxatives, fear of never becoming OK and having a well functioning digestion - ask again in June, maybe I can give a good answer then. I agree with Juney about LIS and healing, some heal quick and easy while others are stuck with bigger or smaller problems. I don't expect things to ever be good in that department, and I am so fed up of talking about myself.

Spouses/SO's get tired of hearing about butt issues most probably because they haven't had the same type of probs! It's OK to vent here, Corsi. Makes one feel better, I think, when one shares feelings.

definitely vent here corsi!! that's what we're here for, support and venting :) we're the only ones who really understand all that we've all been through, so it's more beneficial to get it out here than to your family/friends.
we're all here for you and hoping you get better asap Image
