Hello Missy, Mine is very similar to yours, several weeks of good and normal, and then a cycle of about 10-14 days of pain and suffering that can come at any time. Its really takes a mental toll on top of the physical pain, and i think thats what makes our condition worse - the combination of being anxious and held hostage by our condition. From what i heard, it seems that LIS is the best way to get this over with over botox which tends to have a higher reoccurence rate. And again, kevinpdx thank you for sharing, I have finally decided that over 7 years of suffering im gonna finally bite the bullet and get the surgery.

Also Missy, i saw that you asked for my story, I will post that in a separate thread most likely as a journal when in get the LIS. In short, i have suffered since 2010 and have tried all the conservative methods. They would work from time to time, give me hope that i am cured only to come back. This led to bouts of depression and anxiety that has really affected my work and my life. I have always been terrified of surgery since i have never had one in my life, but i feel that i really will thank myself for getting it done and living life without the physical and mental burden. From the latest studies, the LIS has a very high success rate and stories like kevinpdxs affirms me that I am making the right decision. I will keep you posted with a full story and diary, thanks!

I feel like this is just an on going cycle... I am 3 months post op surgery number three.. I have a few weeks I feel ok and then weeks it hurts just as bad as it hurt 2 days post op... its unreal..
I guess I am going to do botox, I don't want anything else done.. my doctor says he has never not seen anyone heal from LIS's...
I run a lot... and I'm wondering if that is making it worse.. both doctors I have seen said no.

Harper, have you looked at mmklinemm's posts? She's a runner too (from what I can gather) and may be able to help you out. Her thread is here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8439&p=131299#p131299. It's possible that running is preventing healing. Perhaps you can get some useful feedback from a running forum.

Yes it looks like they migrated to Facebook. If you prefer non Facebook forums then there are a number I found just by googling 'running forum'. I'm not certain which ones are more active but most likely it's the ones at the top of the results.

Hi I swim a lot and always have....I was told to leave it for at least a month post op to give my body the best chance to heal. I don't run but did ask if was due to the chlorine and he said it's the constant movement that isn't always beneficial to growing new skin layers.
It could be worth having some time off and see if that helps at all as it is unusual for multiple LIS's to not work if you have no underlying issues

Very unusual!! My doctor is literally stumped.
I didn't run for a month post op each time. I want to heal. I will do anything to heal as all you know! But when the doctor says it doesn't matter if I run or not, it's hard to stop. Exercising gives me an outlet.
The past two days I have been just as sore as I was post op.
It's so crazy to me that I just won't heal!
