Hi SS,

Before I forget, you mentioned that you use moistened toilet paper to clean up after a BM. My gastroenterologist got me started on a cream to use on the tiolet paper that I have found beneficial. Not sure if it's available where you are located but it's called 'Zinc & Castor Oil Cream' by a company called Kenkay. Also used for nappy rash. He recommended it because I found it so painful to clean up properly & he said the Zinc has great healing & protection properties in it. Thought it may be worth the mention. :)

That's great thanks for the help poo-ologist, unfortunately though I have to be extremley careful with creams that I apply to my skin as it is very senstive, I have had many expensive trips to a dermotologist over the years :-( But I DO use petroleum jelly which is amazing as it doesn't soak in to the skin but still provides moisture. Have you tried that at all? X

Christmas Eve

22.00 - A 4 BM, hurt a bit to go, no pain afterwards

Boxing Day

09.00 - A 4/5/6 BM, didn't hurt to go and no pain afterwards initially! About 2 hours after had pain, but hoping it was that pesky internal hem, it didn't feel like my fissure, still had to take pain relief though to get through the day

DAY 56

22.00 - A 4 BM, didn't hurt to go or afterwards but noticed tin bit of blood at the end

DAY 57

07.30 - An explosive 4 BM followed by quite a lot of blood on the paper...damn!

The CRS I saw through the NHS said he would put me under aneasthetic and have a look but would be reluctant to do anything. He told me to eat a normal diet and just take a lot more laxatives. He told me if the pain got really bad he would give me co-codemol and then treat me for constipation....what an idiot! Total fire-fighting instead of dealing with the real problem at hand. Thinking of going privately again now, they actually understand and listen to what I say.

Oh oh SS.

Hopefully its just a hem. If you are painfree, then it might not be a retear.

What an idiot, that CRS. Its really a gamble in the lottery, getting a good CRS or not. If only every CRS on the plannet could spend a week reading this forum, Im sure we could get qualified help...

You are so right JHH, I often think the same, or if any other them had actually suffered a fissure themselves, which going by how they are I don't think they have. I am hoping the bleeding is just a hem, wouldn't that be wonderful! lol. How are you? I hope you had a lovely festive time without any irritation?

Hi SS.

Only way to find out is to have an examn, but no pain is a good sign. I used to feel it when I retore. Like a sting in that exact spot while having BM. Dont know if you have it that way too...

Im fine thanks. No issues at all for the last 14 days. Just a total normal butt :)

DAY 59

10.00 - A 6 BM, no pain going but now in pain an hour or so later, it could be the hem as the pain is on the right and the fissure on the left but now I'm worried I might have more than one tear, never considered that before :-( But then again I think i would be in more pain. I have booked a follow-up consultation privately to get his opinion on my next options, that is booked for this Saturday.
