Thanks, JHH! I think I've realized I have to eat the same thing every day in order to control exactly what comes out each morning. :) I think I read that you did that as well. Do you know for how long you ate the same thing every day? Does it matter what you eat in the morning versus afternoon/evening for the plug? Would you mind posting your diet back when you needed to achieve perfectly smooth bms? I know everyone is different but just curious.

Hi sugar,
It's so weird how one day can be so bad then the next seems better... I had a few days where everything seemed to be settling down, then Bam, I've had another re-tear. I'm losing the will to live.... Just waiting to have pressure test and ultra sound. Sigh. How are you now? Xxx

Oh Rach you poor poor thing :-( What is a pressure test? Wahh, feel so sorry for you :-(

Seem to be doing ok. I have poo'd myself twice in the last 3 weeks (since most recent botox)....brilliant! LOL. First time grandma was here looking after the girls (phew!) and the second time was a few days ago. My husband was having a lie-in and I shouted up the stairs! So luckily both times I was at home AND someone was here to watch the girls whilst I sorted myself out! Oh the joys of having a fissure!!! I dread going out, especially if I haven't 'been', it happening when out has to be the worst thing ever, surely! lol.

Other than that the infection seems to have passed and I'm less sore.

I know this is a stupid question but do you take Laxido? xxx

Hi SS,
The pressure test is to determine if I have high resting pressure.... That might be why I retear. I think they insert a balloon and expand it to test the pressure. Ugh, not looking forwards to it. If i do have high pressure and thick enough muscle it will be LIS. I just can't take this anymore!
Glad you are feeling better and looser back there by the sounds of it. The Botox didn't help me that well, I wish I could have a new lower body!

I took Laxido initially, but found it didn't work as well as Movicol. I take 1.5- 2 a day now as well as Magnesium, good diet and lubrication before BM. I do hope this round of Botox does it for you. Did you get infection from the injection site?

Oh you poor thing, when is it?

I totally agree about new lower body, it's horrendous isn't it

Yeah it was from the injection site, I nearly died as it looked like a fistula!! That would have pushed me over the edge I think!!

I just wanted to write a nice positive post for anyone reading my diary :-)

I have now had my 2nd round of botox (as you will see from the above posts) and although I don't yet know whether this will heal my fissure, I am feeling a lot more positive.

Firstly my diet is now perfect for an AF, we are all different but the following foods I now know I can eat and have soft BMs

Rye bread (the 'Finest' one form Tesco, for those who are UK based)
Spelt pasta
Heinz 5-beans
Any cereal that is maize based 100%, I eat Natures Path
All fruit..except banana
All veg ...except potatos
Any meat that is not processed (beef has to be very lean i.e - stewed steak)
Any fish
Qourn hotdogs...not normal quorn sausages as they are full of starch
Mousse
Maltesers..as long as I suck them until they are mush :-)
Vodka and 'not from concentrate' orange juice :-)

It took me AGES to know what I could eat, via a process of elimination, but I cannot believe how far I have come. I had a really big problem with carbs, but thanks to everyone on here, I have found some that are fine :-)

I am also now on Laxido rather than Lactulose which has made a HUGE difference! Both diet and laxitives combined I am in a much better way :-)

Early days after my 2nd round of botox there was still pain and blood. Now there is no blood (I am a month on) and the only pain I have is soreness, not the horrendous burn. I also have itcheness but I only view that as a positive thing.

If I can heal without surgery that would be amazing :-)

Great news SS.

Yes, diet can take a long time to work out, but once you reach the point where you are able to produce soft BMs every day, its well worth it.

Im crossing my fingers for you :-)

All the best,

JHH
