MPB, One other question, someone also mentioned that if the internal hems became thrombosed from the botox shots, this could also trigger those muscles and all of those symptoms could be from those, and could take months for those to clear up? I supposes that is why people have surgery or procedures for those.. Sheesh what a pain so many things can go awry back there... and everything takes soooo long OMG

Hi MF
I guess that anything in that area can cause major issues due to all the nerve endings and the fact that it never gets any time to really rest. I'm sure the new supplements you are taking will help...let me know if they get rid of your hems as I have had mine for over 20 years and they have never completely gone.
Again it makes sense that all the muscles become inflamed down there...guess it's like if you hurt your ankle, your knee then hurts because your walking funny. I hope it doesn't take too long to totally relax.
At the moment I'm the best I have been since this started 19 months ago....I haven't had any spasms for a month and haven't used my GTN in over a week, but the main reason for this is the fact that my bowel is behaving and I haven't been more than once a day....I did go twice yesterday but that was ok. I'm still not sure the pain would stay away if I went a lot. So I'm working with my colon and my meds to try my best not to go too much.
I believe that as long as I only go once then the pain will stay away, I still have discomfort when I sit too long but then maybe that's not a bad thing as I won't get into the habit of sitting for ages again.

MPB, lol I know if only I knew then what I know now!! sheesh.. I would have changed a lot. I have lost over 60 lbs. so that's good. I probably always had internal hems but didnt notice it until this happened. Now that I think of it, I was sitting all of the time and when the internal hems flaired it caused the fissure which Now I think happened about 6 weeks later. and boy did I love food.. now I am down to about 165 lbs. I have not weighed that since the 80's. All in all I am happy to hear you are finally improving, and I do believe I am on the right track as well. I am still getting some type of spasms though after I go. It develops as the day goes on. (But I have this tightness all of the time) I believe that since it's only been about 3 weeks since I am healed it will need more time to relax, and I did have a bout with a stomach thing a week ago which had me running about 8 times. Set me back a bit.. So onward and upward, I would love to retrain these muscles back there once and for all. I am going to try yoga, but can't sit down yet?! Lot's of ongoing prayers for us all. Thanks for your quick replies. much appreciated..:)

GG... Any chance you notice when laying down the muscles surrounding the rear end like maybe a horseshoe type sling feeling of tightness with your issues up to toward the tailbone? This is what my specialist is referring to. Since your symptoms are very much like mine I was wondering if you noticed any of this? I suppose they are part of the pelvic floor but not sure, does that sound similar at all? :bouncer:

PS, yes the studies have been very positive with using the Diosomin and Hesperidin. It is called Rhoid Aid all natural available on Amazon. I will send you the info. I made sure it doesnt cause loose bowels. I have taken it not quite a week, so will give an update after using it awhile longer.

MPB. Hope you are doing better. Worked my 2 overnights and Had Bm Tuesday right as I was leaving and same this am. Went twice this morning and pain level did shoot up ti about a 3. Ok coming out then soreness fir a good 2 hours then ok . I am at a point where to much activity down there increases discomfort. So guess will have to watch that and deal with it as best I can. Was able to get thru and get some rest without any pain meds or ointments but it let me know I put to much activity on it but I made it thru pretty good I would have to say

Hi Jim,
Oh it's not great that your pain went up but on the positive side at least it wasn't that bad you had to take painkillers...
I had a really bad night went 3 times in just over an hour and the last one was just burning liquid....hadn't done anything too bad although the sausage sandwich I had for lunch was a bit greasy...painwent up pretty high about a 7 but took some gabapentin...I guess I have the answer as to whether it will still hurt if I go too much. Still sore this morning but nothing like what it would have been before the LIS.
It's strange activity doesn't bother mine at all as long as I'm not doing squats or moves that need me to sit it doesn't hurt. I even went to a trampoline fitness class last week and although it was uncomfortable it didn't hurt.
I think for some of us LIS is not the magic cure it is for others and we will always have to be careful and adapt. But life is at least easier than before the LIS

MPB. Sorry to hear you had 3 times. Having 2 was bad enough and 3 im sure would of been worse. I guess that teachs me that my bottom cant handle long periods of sitting and still tender. Thats good to know though. Great that you were
Able to attend a class and get thru. For me I know that before LIS my pain would of been much worse then it was yesterday. So I think LIS helped and hopefully things will get even better for both of us. Keep on keeping on.

MPB, quick question... what the heck are these squiggly feelings? Could it be internal hems shrinking or some type of healing process, I remember having this earlier alittle bit, but now since Botox I have been noticing this more often typically at night, just wondering if you recall this happening. Things seem to be slowly improving and those horrid spasms have settled mostly its about 4 weeks since healed. For me now it's mostly the achy tight surrounding muscles that the Specialist said the hems and inflammation from fissure (that still gets disturbed when we go) still creates tension and pulling on the surrounding muscles that attach to the tailbone. So trying to figure out if they are voluntary unlike the IS which is involun tary.. If so I want to try some things to relax those levator that were overworked from all of the trauma back there. Anything work for you if you had this same thing or similar? What a crazy thing?!

Hi MF,
That could be the internal hems shrinking. I get that a lot after a flare of my IBS or crohns when my hems are really bad. I guess I'm just used to it now and don't mind it as I know it means they are going down in size.

How are you doing since your last update mpb?

I was wondering if you've had any side effects from the amitryptiline (sp?)? I'm finally having good bms but I'm also having bad stomach cramping, which my GI said the amitryptiline would probably help with. Im worried it will back me up severely...I'm also taking morphine so it may be too constipating.

Do you find it helps with stomach pain at all?

Oh and I've decided psyllium and flax are both a no no for me. I've tried both multiple times and after two days of taking it I wake up with non stop stomach cramping and bloating....dang ibs
