I am so glad you know why you are in so much pain. Does'nt it suck to have to go back n the creams after surgery - trust me I know. I have never heard of an external sphincter spasm? That is very interesting. Geez - 7 cuts! Holy ouch girl! I actuelly was doing so reading on fissurectomies recently and it takes about 2 weeks for them to heal and are very painful. I just wanted to let you know that so you know there is light at the end of your tunnel.

i just don't see how i can heal with spasms and swelling dow there ;((... if i do not get any better till monday i will ask if botox might help now - i don't see what else ....this is horrific - i just took dervocet since pain is just beyond bearing and it is getting worse ...
i will eat nothing but cereal today...

oh yeah, jen, buddy, i had fissurectomy first time around and had no pain or spasm - this is just rediculous ; (((. Fissurectomy place sometimes need 12 weeks to heal , mine healed fast and at 9 weeks was visually confirmed healed - i think that removal of those 3 inside centenial piles caused all of this commotion ; (((- i have 3 extra wounds on my mucosa : ( plus fissurectomy that was more extensive than the first one - all in all - now my whole pelvic area is on fire ; (((((....

Did they prescribe any metronindazole? Sometimes they give that to help with rectal/anal healing.

If the darvocet isn't cutting it you can ask for phernegan. It is an anti-emetic but they gave it to me after my last surgery and it kind of augments the pain medicine. You could try that or go up to vicodin. Darvocet is kind of wimpy for rectal surgery pain.

I'm so dreadfully sorry you're in such unbearable pain, can you get them to prescribe something stronger? You can't be expected to just suffer like this, that's ridiculous. As these surgeons do these operations day in, day out, surely they MUST realise how much pain they cause. I cant understand why on earth they dont send you home with decent painkillers that would at least make you a little more comfortable.

I am so sorry Fissy! I feel for you lady! It is almost like your entire bum is cut. i can imagine your pain is comparable to a hemmiectomy in that way. :( Despite the pain your feeling now, you will be better darling! I just know it!
Lecia - Did you also notice alot of pain when you had you "inside" skin tags removed? How many did you have again? I know you told me before, but I can not remember.
