The doctor thinks its myofascial pain... Muscles are tight since I had the fissure and they don't relax. The tight muscles could be causing micro fissures with every (even thin bm) bowel movement which might be contributing to the pain.

Maybe I just have issues, period, but it seems to work now.

Does a heating pad or any topical medication help at all?

I mentioned this before, but California approves the use of medical marijuana - have you tried that? I'm serious. If Pennsylvania did, I would certainly give it a try. Hell, I spend at least 25-35% percent of my day in pain and that can be a 2-3, 5-6 or a 7-8. I would try just about anything. Alcohol doesn't do it. something must.

Heating pad does help... Walking And warm baths... i have not tried marijuana (ever) but was thinking about it... I told my husband about it but he is not too fond of me doing it plus he does not want me to get addicted. I don't drink alcohol either :( chronic pain really makes life miserable; I am just hoping that Botox works.

Alyssa,

If I remember, you go for Botox on the 5th, right? I hope it does the trick for you. Please let me know what you think because if it works for you, I may try it. Don't know if I can continue to go on like this. Got you on my prayer list.

For the conversation -- medical marijuana doesn't work like smoking a joint. Further, pot isn't addictive and don't believe it 'leads to other drugs' - it's bull$hit. I had a good friend that went on to opiates, but I never had the inkling. When I was young, I likely smoked a metric ton of it and didn't touch it after that for years and never cared. I've had it while in Amsterdam around 12 years ago and once at a party maybe two years ago. Don't miss it one iota.

Now for pain, it's supposed to have some amazing results, but again, I'm talking about the medical version and not loading up a bong, although if something doesn't give, I'm ready for almost anything because this isn't living. People that have never suffered like this can't get it -- there's no reference point for them. No surgery for me. Ask Joan Rivers how her procedure went - if you ever can.

Best of luck and let us know.

Lee,

Yes my Botox is scheduled for Friday and I hope it does the trick for me too... Living in chronic pain is not living though I wouldn't mind being Joan Rivera at the moment (sorry but this constant pain is very depressing). Yes unless you go through it you don't know what chronic pain feels like! I told my coworker a out it and she said I would never have imagined you having pain because it does not look like it.. Little does she know I cry in the shower before I go to work and have emotional break downs.

Alyssa,

Understand completely with what you mean about the pain. It's a life changer. I told my wife that maybe some people don't like to go to sleep because they may have bad dreams, but I don't want to wake up because that's when the nightmare starts again.

Good luck with the treatment and I hope it works 100% for you. Let me know what you think and any details because I may give it a try. Can't live like this.

Very best of luck to you.

We're all in a nightmare that has no end in sight! Before this, I never understood by people committed suicide but now I understand; chronic pain is something that drives you insane. Some days, I am jealous of people who died because at least they are in peace and have no pain. I am praying that this Botox brings me the pain relief I need. Nervous all hell though.. Hope I don't poop my pants :(

It's the Society of Pain. An exclusive membership and people that feel good are not allowed.

How did it go? Wondering how you are doing and what your results may be and hopefully, it worked for you. Let us know.
