I was sedated during the procedure; I was in and out of the hospital within 3 hours! I was more nervous about it than I should have been because it was easy.. I was a little sore last night but that was it. It takes about a week for the full affect so will let you know how it goes. Botox on the pelvic floor was not bad... But hopefully it works :)

Glad to hear that hurdle is over with Alyssa. Maybe I should come see your doctor...

Sure hope this works for you. Did you get any information as to where they put the botox and how much?

Yes... I was able to talk to the doctor before the procedure but I don't remember exactly what muscles since I was unable to retain too much information since I was very nervous but the amount of Botox that was injected was based on my height and weight (5'2/ 112 lbs) I have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks so I will get the full details then... Dr. Schmitt & dr. Gunter are both chronic pelvic pain specialist for kaiser in San Francisco... I've read online that San Francisco has the best clinics for pelvic pain disorders so I am glad that I am only an hour drive away..

Alyssa,
It's great to read you have your Botox procedure done and even better, that it was not too traumatic for you.
I really hope that this helps you make some sound progress with your issues....you have raised some really interesting issues with your experience, in that rectal pain does not just always stop after a fissure has healed and I relate, although not to your extent, but I am much further on than you. I will continue to follow your progress :)

I've been very active today... So been having irritation all day that bugs the hell out of me... It's either a pain day or an irritation day... Feeling very minor soreness on the injection sites.

Hopefully, the irritation vs. pain is a sign that there is at least some improvement. We're hoping that you feel better every day.

Lee,

I hope so because this irritation is very bothersome...

It takes a week to fully gain the results of the treatment as you said before, so hang in there.
