It sounds like you are doing all the right things and you are a good candidate for the surgery. I took 800 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day to help with the pain. You could also get some lidocaine or xylocaine that is a numbing cream to put on the area and see if that helps.

Pinky -
800 mg should be fine. That is prescription strength - I get it all the time from my doctor. I also breastfed for a long time with my issues. I would have to lay down to feed because it was so hard to sit with the pain. Your almost done with this - the 15th is right around the corner!!!!

I know you will be fine, Pinky. When we are in such physical pain it is hard to believe that things will get better but they will. I breastfed my kids too and ibuprofen is fine to take while breastfeeding. How old is your son?

If you can take 800 mg of ibuprofen before you have a bm and then get in the tub while the medicine has a chance to get into your system I think you will feel better. 400 mg would not make a dent in my pain at all.

:( It sounds like a nightmare for you Pinky, I'm sure things will be better after your LIS, it should be a breeze after what you are suffering now.
Not long to go now, hang in there, it will get better! Image

Pinky, I found no real pattern to lying or standing, but I know I had to work while I had my spasms, so most of the time I could not lie. I know if you lie down, unless you have a major distraction, you will focus on the pain more.
I had a tremendous urge to walk off my spasms. Just walk until they left. Maybe I just needed *that* distraction. And I seemed convinced that if I could just lie around for a couple weeks and do no driving or sitting or lifting, I would start to heal. But life intervenes and that was impossible.
