I saw my urologist today. My urine tests were all Normal and he said my prostate was normal on DRE. He said the pain could be rectal, muscular, neuropathic, prostate, which makes chronic pelvic pain a difficult condition to diagnose and treat.

He sees many chronic pelvic pain patients apparently.

I will see my CRS to make sure the dilation hasn't been causing any problems on the 9th February. Then if everything is normal the urologist said we can do a cystoscopy as a last test to exclude any bladder/prostate issues causing the pelvic floor spasm.

It's about the only test left I haven't done.

Then if nothing is found all I can do is continue on my pain management regime with the pain specialist. Currently I am taking amyritipline 25mg at night to help with the burning.

Seems my symptoms still are burning pain after each bowel movement, mine usually comes on about an hour later after each bowel movement.

Msimon,

I'll ask my doctor at the next appointment..

Pafen,

Sorry to hear your news.. I hope that you don't have to live like this... Have you been to physical therapy? Can you contact the pelvic rehab clinic to get a 15 minute free phone consultation
To see if they offer new advice or options...

I saw my pelvic floor specialist today. She took some readings and couldn't believe how weak my pelvic muscles were. The reading was very low.
She has set up my pelvic toner machine and I'm to do 30 mins a day with this. I go back in July for a re evaluation.

She couldn't believe I was not soiling myself the reading was so low.

OMB,

So you have a weak pelvic floor... Not a tight one? A weak pelvic floor also causes pain?

What's the name of the toner machine?

My pt suggested I use a pelvic floor educator to teach me how to relax and contract my pelvic floor since I can't tell the difference; it's like using a biofeedback machine but in your own home. They sell it on amazon but I have not had the chance to buy it; will be moving this weekend so my life is very hectic at the moment.

I think it's a biofeedback machine.

It's called " neuro Trac Pelvitone. It is made by a company called verity medical.

Just want to share that my physical therapist said that a weak muscle is a painful one. I believe my fissure is healed but that the burning pain is nerves and weak muscle.
fissure May 2014
nitro, diltiazem
botox July
fistula surgery, piece of skin tag removed Oct
fissure declared healed Dec
currently have burning/pain-told it is nerve pain
physical therapy, sitz baths, valium suppositories
hoping I am healing
