Actually when I had my EUA by the colorectal surgeon. The plan was if we find a fissure we will do the LIS, if I don't then we will do the Botox.
He went with his gut feeling he told me, that the folds in the anal canal it's very hard to spot a fissure sometimes and it would take a long time to explore the whole area of the rectum. He said my symptoms were typical of a fissure but he didn't confirm with me that he actually found one.
So he did the LIS anyway. My discharge forms said EUA showed scarring from the previous hemroidectomy incisions everything else was normal. I asked him also about stenosis and he said I didn't have that.
Looking back I wish he had done the Botox instead or as well now.
Alyssa it sounds like the Botox is helping somewhat so it's something I will discuss with my pain management doctor.
