Well.... It's my CRS appointment tomorrow. Feeling pretty nervous, partly because I don't know what he will say the next treatment will be and also because I don't want to forget to ask everything and mess up! I need to be firm and tell him how these damn Fissures are ruining my life! Is it best to go in with a list of questions? And I want answers! And not to be rushed! This is my life!

BMs have been smaller and more broken up as such since taking more Movicol. Pain is there every day, just in varying degrees. I want a pain free bottom, is that too much to ask!?

Definitely not too much to ask! My crs appointment is this Thursday. I'm planning to take a list. Praying we both get answers and on the road to healing this awful, life alterating affliction! I just want my life back as I know you do, too. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck tomorrow sweetie. Take a little note book, with all the questions you want to ask, and say right at the beginning you have them. Don't forget to take a pen to write the answers down too, as if you're anything like me, you'll forget virtually everything that you've just been told!!
I hope you get a decent plan of action that can move you forward..... And I'm sure you will.

Look forward to hearing your update!

We're all here cheering you on! Generally speaking, yes, it is good to have your questions written out. One thing to be careful of, though, is to keep the list as concise and on point as you can. Doctor visits like these bring up so much tension, and in that tension it's so easy to get sidetracked into all kinds of things.

Wishing you all the best of luck!

Thankyou everyone. I really appreciate your kind words.....

Well I really don't know what to say! The CRS examined me and he was shocked to see that my anus is almost normal? His exact words were.. Well I didn't expect to see an almost normal looking anus. Then he continued to insert a telescope and I was almost so tense I nearly came off the couch. He cannot see any Fissures, just bad irritation. Now I explained I couldn't see how this could be, as I am still getting Fissure symptoms and pain in varying degrees. He then looked puzzled and said there was no way there are any tears back there and that I might be forming new fissures and then healing. Then I asked does that mean I have high resting pressure!? His answer was I don't think so Because I got the telescope in there easily!

Ugh, what an answer! I thought they needed to do a test to determine resting pressure! I then went on to say that I am not entirely happy with this, so he has referred me to another surgeon for a second opinion, which was his idea! Weird to say the least. This just doesn't explain why I am still sore and in pain.

I feel weird and confused after this..... God knows but I really can't believe it.....

Can anybody shed some light on this, and has anyone else had a similar experience where they are still in pain but have been told it all looks okay??

Thats the way i felt racheal i had pain and little bits of blood but the blood was frim piles and the pain from a tight anus and little splits that came but healed on their own. If i had my time over again i wodnt go for the 2nd botox and the way he stretched me with watever they use to have a look has has left me in a bad way. He told me i was all healed and now im bleeding from new places and my old fissure feels like its open again too, so much blood every morning again and more pain than b4. So make sure if the 2nd crs wants to put u out to have a good look he doesnt stretch u and destroy bottom. All my love and thoughts to u pet xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Wow, Rachael, I don't know what to say either. I was so hoping for you to get some answers today. Feeling for you. Let's both just try to hang in there. There just has to be light at the end of this very long tunnel. There just has to.

Rachael..
Yup, I've been getting the same answer off and on for three years. When my fissures aren't deep and active they are seen as more like irritation on visual exam. There may not even be fissures visual at the time of exam. But what happens over time is with the recurrence of the fissures , the area has been in so much pain for such long periods of time that even minor tears or minor irritations that are probably pretty normal for everyone to have at one time or another just feel extra sensitive because the nerves in the anus have become so highly sensitized to pain.

If he was able to get a scope in there you likely don't have a very severe case of hypertonia, at least while your fissures aren't super active. So, in your case, the tightness is likely in response to when you have a more active, deeper fissure, rather than a normal state of excessive tension that is there all the time.

Glad to hear you'll be able to get a second opinion. That is really encouraging as your doctor isn't just leaving you out in the cold without any idea of what to do with you.

Hang in there Rachael. After two years my Crs again advised a third round of botox that I refused. She said my fissure was barely there. I have a feeling it heals and reopens and repeat but the stupid musclr is always sore and doesn't get a break. I have asked for lis and hope it isn't a bad decision as today I had a wonderful bm! Have a feeling if I cancel then I will retest again. U hope she actually does the lis even though it often looks like irritation or just a superficial tiny cute. Who knew tiny things can hurt so bad!? Perhaps you are like me and heal and reopen but the Crs doesn't see the bad days.
