Asdf Bi Lateral Flap Diary

Postby asdf123456 » 07 Oct 2014, 16:53

Just got back from my flap surgery. My CRS said the plastic surgeon recommended bi-lateral flaps, but I am not sure of exactly the type of flaps. I didn't get to speak to the surgeons afterward. Right now I'm still feeling woozy and mostly pain free from the anesthesia, but I'm anticipating it will be wearing off this evening. Please send me positive vibes and pray to whoever that I'm on my way to being fissure FREE.

Hi, I had what they call bilateral sliding flap anoplasty surgery. The flaps run side to side. My donor sites were left open, OUCH! but it was worth it. Keeping it clean and the dressing on it was tricky but I had help from my husband. I had my surgery in April of 2013 so I'm over a year out. The recovery is a little slow and it comes in stages but it's not bad. I had to start dilation 1 week out of surgery, once a day and I still do that. That's not to bad either once you figure out how to do it. The tricky part was no toilet paper, I couldn't wipe the area clean for over a year, I used a shower bidet. I still like that better but I can now clean pretty well if I'm not at home. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Best of luck Suzy.

Spoke to my CRS. He said I had a bigger wound than he thought, and at least some degree of stenosis. I got bi lateral house flaps, so the stenosis should be cured if they hold.

No bm yet, cuz I ate almost nothing yesterday. If I dont go soon, I'll start with the miralax.

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS

We are all supporting you asdf. Thinking of you often. Praying your recovery will go well. I will be following close as I will most likely do it in January. And yes Suzy is a great wealth of information and very willing to share her knowledge. Wondering how the pain is? Are you able to keep it under control? Hoping that fissure free life will soon be a reality for you!

Thanks. So far I am only taking Toradol for pain. Lying on my belly, the pain is manageable. I'm sure after my BM it will be much more severe though. Everyone is different, but if you had a hemmorhoidectomy, that should give you a sense of the level of pain.
