How is everyone doing?
Pafen, what happened at your appointment?

Alyssa, have you felt any positive effects from the Botox yet?

I am still in limbo waiting for an appointment to see a pelvic pain specialist. My pain continues. I can't sit for longer than 30-40 mins without my butt screaming out. Walking helps to alleviate some of the pain.

We need a miacle cure!

I just had Botox done yesterday so it takes a few days to take effect but I have felt that in the past it has decreased pain with bm's.. I think I Aldo need to find a different pelvic floor physical therapist (outside of kaiser permanente; my insurance).

Did you get the botox into your pelvic floor or sphincter Alyssa? Hope it kicks in soon for you. How long did you notice an improvement with your BMs last time? How long has it been since your first injections?

This time the doctor decided to inject it on the pelvic floor and the sphincter... This is my 2nd time getting Botox in the pelvic floor and sphincter; I noticed the difference in about 3 weeks.

In September I had Botox in the pelvic floor, December in the sphincter; now march in both...

My Botox relaxes the muscles but my pt and I have to manually lengthen them; my pt does not have available dates until April.. With Botox it is less painful to rectally massage the area, once it wears off it is too painful.

How long did you get relief from you last injections Alyssa?

I hope this time gives you good and lasting relief and that you find another PT to help you through this.

I have been doing lots and lots of research and I really believe I have pudendal neuralgia. I am going to go armed with my info to my drs this week and ask to be referred to an expert in treating this condition. Apparently there are not alot of them in the UK, so I shall have to look hard.

Alyssa, I hope this lot of Botox does the trick

Msimon, my Botox took 14 days to kick in xxx

I had relief for about 2 and a half months...

Pelvic floor dysfuction and PN/ pne have similar symptoms check out the pudendal neuralgia hope website... For further information. I also belong to their group on face book and there and several people that live in the uk that can guide you through diagnosis and finding a qualified pelvic floor physical therapist.. I have learned so much about pelvic pain from them.

Thanks alyssa, I can't access the face book site though as I'm not on Facebook.

I have come across the pudendal hope site before. I shall do some more reading on there.
