You can buy a portable bidet device: http://www.amazon.com/Giraf-BP-30-Porta ... B001BYV3J6

I pack along an ear bulb syringe: http://www.amazon.com/Laboratory-Tool-R ... lb+syringe

and a bottle of water if I need it. You just suck up the water and aim it at your butthole. At home I use a peri bottle. Would any of these help you? After the cleaning part then maybe you could sit on a heating pad or hot water bottle? Do you have spasms after BMs? Are you using the GTN?

Pain is changing!

I've noticed over the past 2 days or so my pain has been changing at the incision site and around the sphincter. It's now turning into an itchy pain - easiest way for me to describe it. It's like I've been bitten by a bunch of ants down there where they cut. Had a look with a mirror which showed nothing unremarkable. Is this a sign of healing? Sometimes the prickly pain gets quite bad but for now it's tolerable. Not had any shooting pains for 24 hours. On a side note I also developed a fungal infection on my things (jock itch) from sitting on a hot bottle all day making me sweat. But that's beings resolved by canestan slowly but surely (if all things were such a simple fix!)

Anyway that's the update for now, I've now reached the two week post op mark.

Congrats on reaching that 2 week mark! Yes, the dreaded itchiness seems to mean healing. I had to remind myself of that everytime I thought it was going to make me lose my mind...

Just wanted to add a note. Itching has stopped, decided to take a long hot soak in the bath with candles and meditation music. I feel wonderful. Pain only a 3/10 that's only a sting. x

Ok, so I woke up this morning feeling fine... got up and was aware at a chronic itchy feeling at the 1pm position. i carried on with getting dressed and walked downstairs and got to the kettle. I bared down ever so slightly and the pain shot through me like a pin at the same spot. just run to the bath and had a very small hip bath which has stopped it but I have no idea what would have caused it?!

Still yet to open my bowels today.

I don't want to tempt fate, as I've done it MANY times before on this forum. But today has been the best day so far! sadly I hadn't opened my bowels in 2 days and I panicked. No clue why as I was taking all my pills and potions as normal. Anyway, I knew what was coming so I went to the meds cupboard at home and got myself a Glyceryn Suppository and Lubed it up and pushed it in, no pain.... waited the 15 mins and needed the toilet, yay!

then squatted with my squatty potty and braced myself as knew there was a lot to come, and could feel it was dry and very rough (the plug effect) I started to sweat buckets expecting the worst, it took ages (10 minutes?) for it to come through but... No pain!!!! (ok only a slight sting but that's nothing) and no spasm after! Yay! the Bath after was lovely with only a slight ache when i cleaned the area.

keeping everything crossed. The only difference last night was I used a pediatric dilator for the first time.

Teensy twinges of pain today. Back at work which made my bowel motion so stressful! It was actually not bad. Pain 2/10 but it got a bit worse after as I couldn't wash off after. Just home now in bed and used the dilator again but now got that horrible itch back!

Had to go home from work. Had 2 bowel motions in the space of 2 hours, no blood and no pain, but sore when wiping at the incision site (12pm) the internal and sphincter itch after was there, and got progressively worse... to the point of bad pain but still an itch? if that makes sense?

now at home and feeling better after some naproxen.
