Thanx Katie, I'm sure after your op you will recover quickly and be able to get back to normality.
The amitryptiline has been amazing so far and just going once a day has really helped my pain levels and I hope my healing,
I had tummy grumbles yesterday that normally would have ended in trips to the toilet....but nope I only went once so that was amazing.
Off to the gym today or swimming will see which is busiest lol. Then work I feel like I'm living again now instead of just existing in some pain filled alternate dimension where I can see others living and having fun but cannot join in.
So fingers crossed for a nice BM again today lol

Hi GG,
I didn't do any sitting postures....no way could I sit on the floor lol. I'm not sure if this has an impact...it didn't feel like it aggravated it to be fair it aggravates my hip flexes so maybe I'm not engaging my pelvic floor correctly,
Yes any input on core work would be welcome as that has alway been my weakest area....
I don't do the hundreds exercise either...I'm usually ok at knowing what will be fine for me but have occasionally aggravated my fissure...out of stubbornness...I can do the splits and yoga poses that involve them...I made the mistake once of thinking sod this fissure I'm doing it anyway....will never ever do that again....very painful lol.

Well went for my BM yesterday Bristol 3/4 but lots of residue. Then off I went to the gym...no pain whilst on the treadmill but pain did go up to a 3 whilst standing still doing arm weights, but the good news is that for the very first time it went down to a two after about 2 hours and then turned to a mild discomfort after about 4...this is the first time since I had my op that my pain has been that low on a BM day. I also had my IBS cramps but no extra trips to the toilet. So yesterday was a very happy day.
Of to swimming this morning then work
Hope we all have a pain free day

MPB. Yea I hear you. I had 2 trips today and with the gas as well def feeling it. Same story the less pressure the better. Doesnt really bother me when moving around or laying on my sides or stomach. I had some blood work done and all came back normal. I did a stool sample today and hopefully that will be normal. Tonights my overnight work so hopefully I can get thru with minimal pain. After first of year I may make appt with a Gastroenterologist and sxreen for polyps. Had a colonoscopy 8 yearscago due in 2. May stay ahead of the curve and do it in 2017 to be sure about colorectal cancer.

I wouldn't be happy either. Metamucil worked really well for my diarrhea for the first week or so, but then I had to keep upping the dosage to get the formed bm's that I so desperately wanted. Eventually (probably within a month or two), I had upped the dosage to the highest possible, and the diarrhea could no longer be kept at bay. I'm so sorry to hear that you need to up your dosage too, and hope that you can find a level that does the trick and continues to be effective!

It's so annoying I have been great for over 2 weeks now and I have started to notice a real difference in the pain levels. I can go pretty high with the amitryptiline dosage but I don't know how my liver will be...it really is annoying though as it wasn't even like I though oooh let's have something nice, I'm still being really careful ggggrrrr

Well last night wasn't pleasant but the pain didn't go above a 6 though I'm still very sore this morning. I'm really hoping I don't have to go to the toilet today and that my BMs go back to bring nice now I have upped the dosage
Fingers crossed

Do you know if the new dosage takes time to start working? Let's hope so!
