It does seem like it might be more than a little coincidence, especially as when I told Mr B about my background as a former sportsman, he said that together with other factors, such as age, stress levels and current level of activity made me a prime candidate for an AF...

I see Mr B in less than 2 weeks now, so figured I'd seek his opinion first, before going ahead and starting any pelvic floor work, but I think it may well help both issues, as long as I get someone who knows what they're doing!

Hope you're well today and that your Colon's letting you have a pain-free weekend.

Take care,
Mr F

Waited until the end of the day, as I didn't want to jinx it lol, but had the best 2 'back to back' days I've had since the LIS.

Yesterday the adductor was the strongest it's felt, so managed a decent walk, and the only time I felt a burn was going up a small hill. Rectogesic when I got back dealt with that within about 15 minutes.

Today, though the adductor has been producing some weird nerve pain high up in my groin (referred?), I managed my longest walk so far (40 mins) admittedly still a stroll, but crucially no burning at all, and I went up the same hill as yesterday! :D I think a key recently has been that I've consciously tried to rotate from standing, to sitting, to lying to walking etc every 15 - 30 mins whenever possible, to try and avoid overly stressing the injured areas.

I'm not getting carried away, as I'm still a long way off normal, but, f I can string another good day on to this tomorrow, then you just never know....

Right, off to wrap myself in cotton wool now and head to bed...

Mr F. Thats Great you finally got some relief. I know for me I still get the bhrning and pain when going but nowhere near what it was. My biggest problem is stressing over it which can flare my anus up. I was told that anxiety and stressing can exacberate this. Today has been a very good day. Been pain free all afternoon had a minor flare up for some reason took a bath and went away. Go figure. I also did 2 shots of Nifedipine and some vasiline which I have been using and seems to really help. I can get my finger in to do massage and I can feel the musclecis still a bit sore so I knowbthe fissure is healed but very tender. As longas I get adequate blood flow down there Iam in good shape. Walking really helps for me. Keepibg my fingers crossed for more days like today. Stool softners drinking water and baths along with dilation seem to be working ratherwell. I will take it

Yay Mr F so pleased, sometimes it just takes a bit longer. Don't forget how long you had your fissure and the other issues involved.
There is no reason this shouldn't be the beginning of lots and lots of good days. Yes you may have the odd bad day until you get that pelvic area sorted but I'm sure the recovery will continue to improve.
Some of us will possibly always be prone to tenderness in that area but compared to what we have had to deal with who cares about tenderness lol

Thanks guys!

Glad to hear you've recovered so well, Jim. And I agree stress definitely does affect things, in fact I'm so aware of things down there now, that I can even feel now when my IS starts to tighten on me. If I recognise it, I just try to step back from whatever's causing me the worry and concentrate on taking some deep breaths for on minute or so...Along with a spot of Recto, seems to help...

So, Sadly I couldn't make it a third day on the trot, life got in the way yesterday, and I was forced to do a little more than I really wanted at this stage. Long story short, Fissure's flared up again, ocassional sharp pains all day today and on the walk tonight felt that old familiar pulling and burning again....

Anyway, tying not to panic, as you say MPB, they'll always be bad days along the way (& I never do it the easy way! Lol), but Sunday and Monday have given me a glimmer of hope to hang on to, for the time being at least...

Mr F Yes you are right on it only you know the trigger points. To me that is the key and for me its been trial and error.I have had 3BM since yesterday morning. The second one set it off and it went on for hours. I also havecan external hemmy right there so I am sure it flared it as well. Put some 5% lidocaine on the area and it calmed down significantly. So another lesson learned. Life goes on and was able to get thru it. You will as well I am sure. Keep fighting dont let it win under any circumstances. I fight everyday not easy but I fight.

Yes I'm sure if our lives and bodies let us be then our fissures would be much less problematic if there at all.
We carry on and keep going giving in isn't an option. The good days make it worthwhile and there are way more good days after LIS than before so that's the most important thing to remember

Sorry to hear you had a tough day Jim, but glad to hear you battled through it! I've said many times but the mental battle of a Fissure is as tough as the physical...

And don't worry, I'll keep fighting too! Ive had plenty of knock backs along the way with this, and expect a good few more before I'm finally rid of it!

Stay strong

MPB well put couldnt of said it any better.
Mr F. Absolutely agree. There will probably be setbacks and it is so discouraging. Many on this site have had the same experience. Just when you think you got it made wham it blindsides you. Like MPB said "Cherish the good days"

Hi Mr F am taken aback you're still using Rectogesic after LIS. I was gonna bin the rest of my tube (pains me given the extortionate price!) as I'm presuming I'll never have a spasm again after op a week ago.

Call me dim but I thought the whole point of op is to stop those spasms otherwise it hasn't worked.

I'll keep hold of the explosive cream then..
