Botox was recommended by the CRS so I decided to give it a shot. I have gotten some minimal relief from it but it's been less than 2 weeks so it hasn't reached its full strength yet. I'll certainly keep you posted.

It's crazy how the healing process is different for everyone. I've read stories where people claim to go back to work 3-4 days after LIS.

Fred, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I've read similar threads but don't know what to make of it. I currently can only sit on comfy couch cushions and even then I have to get up and walk around the condo every 15 minutes. I am essentially couch ridden. I am currently working from home which makes it easier but I miss my old life. I take it day by day and tell myself I'll heal but it's hard to not despair. It takes so long to heal these darn things and my mind goes into overdrive thinking of all the craziest of scenarios that may impede healing.

Dust, oh I went back to the office after 2 weeks but because I had to. I have to regularly alternate between standing and sitting because I will get very sore if I do either too long. And I still get random “leakage” almost like a skin discharge I have to clean ever so often during the day. Luckily it doesn’t leak through my pants.

It took 2 and a half weeks but I feel the botox is kicking in. I still feel the pressure of the fissure when sitting and lying down but pain has been reduced. I applied diltiazem earlier and there was almost no pain when I touched my anus to dab on the medication. It usually stings as I apply the meds.

I also pooped 3 times this morning and there was almost no pain afterward. Before I would have to sit on a heating pad for hours after a bowel movement.

Fred, have you tried seeing a neurologist or gotten any nerve meds?

Not yet Dust 2 Dust. I'll have yet another appointment with a specialist and if everything is rolled out, I guess I have to consider unconventional methods including neuropathy/therapy.
How are you doing? Satisfied with the progress in your healing?
