Hey Jen...Awww, he is sooooo cute! I don't think little boys get any cuter...what say you? Oh! you're a bit biased? Image
Ha ha, I have been there with baby hands and dog paws under the door...AND cat paws!!! And you mean you need quiet and privacy to poop? REALLY? :irony:
I do respect your decision to perhaps go ahead a have a second child! That is a brave and courageous and even loving way of looking at it. But you are young, you could wait an additional 6 months and let your butt heal even better and then your chances of not going through all this again might improve. Well, maybe? I bet you want a little girl!!

Before I have a bm I put on KY jelly and then A&D ointment. Make sure you get the original version and not the kind that is white with zinc oxide. I can always send you some too if you like.
I remember trying to poop with the baby crying and feeling so tense and stressed. I would hold it sometimes until my husband got home because it took 30 minutes for me to go because of the nerve damage.
I am glad my girls are in school. I hold it while I am getting them ready and sometimes they are so slow, I want to say, hurry up, mommy has to go take a dump!
I had my baby in a bouncy seat while took a bath and sometimes I would just put her in there with me. I would hold her across my chest and when she got bigger she could sit across from me.

jen i'll be very curious to know how things go for you if you decide to get pregnant soon. i'm very hesitant to ever have kids b/c of all my butt problems. i want to hear from someone who's dealt with all this and then managed to have an ok pregnancy. right now i've pretty much ruled it out for myself, which is very sad to me (and my mom!) b/c i'm only 26.
i tell my boyfriend all the time that if he wants to be with me he needs to accept that i probably won't ever want to get pregnant. tha'ts a definite strain on our relationship, b/c he knows he wants kids. but if this ever heals, i just can't bear the thought of it starting up again b/c of pregnancy.
anyway, that's just how i feel about it. it's very depressing thinking i'll never experience the "normal" things in life that so many other people already have. i'm glad you already have 1 beautiful boy, and if you decide to have another soon, i really hope things go well.

best of luck tomorrow Pinky! Hope he'll say that everythings normal and healing well!
Jen, your little boy is SO cute! I'm sure if getting pregnant is something you really really want, then everything will be ok! You could have a c-section so there wouldn't be any risk of retearing.
You too Juney, dont write yourself off as never having kids, things might be very different a few years down the line, and if you really want something, there is usually some way of getting it and overcoming obstacles. So never say never!

At least with pregnancy you have more blood flow to the area and more elasticity so the pregnancy itself wouldnt put you at higher risk for AF but the delivery could, but like Val pointed out, you could have a c-section. So don't give up hope. I am sure there is a way!

Juney, you are way too young to despair so. I know it's been rough, but you never know when healing will come. Many women have suffered tremendous odds to have children. I think if you really want to have kids in the future, you should get two medical opinions, that is providing you are still having tail trouble. I agree with Val, there many ways to overcome obstacles -- but I know that when you deal with daily pain it is so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel and too easy to get down and negative about the future. Don't let that happen with you, and always keep your heart set on the things you really want in life.
How is your healing going from your last surgery?

Juney -
Trust me - I totally know how you feel. A few weeks ago, I was so mad at my fissure i swore I would never have kids again. However, this surgery is going to work for you - i just have this feeling about it. Also, I agree with Lecia a hundred percent. Pregnancy itself won't make a fissure worse. More blood flow will help it. You just need to stay regular as constipation is a side effect of pregnancy. I plan on taking benefiber and whatever else it takes during the whole 9 months. I am going to try my hardest for a c-section. I have to see military doctors and they never want to do c-sections. I will battle them until the very end about it and eventually I will get my way. I told my husband that if they don't let me get a c-section I am going to tell them I crap my pants all the time due to a weak sphincter from LIS. No doctor would let me deliver vaginally then, as a 3rd or 4th degree tare really weakens sphincters. My hubby said he will not go to the OB appointment with me if I tell them I poo myself on a regular basis, but there is nothing wrong with a white lie.
My son just learned how to flush the toilet, so now I have to have the toilet flush while I am trying to have a BM!

Kim -
Yes he was trying too and I was so mad. I had a baby trying to flush, small dogs trying to get on my lap, and then there is me trying to poo! I ended up giving my son a roll of TP (unused :)) and he left the bathroom. I had to shew my dogs away. When I was finish, there was TP all over the living room, but at least I got to poo in peace!!! :)
