Hi Amy,
When you say pelvic pain, can you be more specific where it hurts? What treatment were you receiving prior to AF?
My pain started after childbirth and I have also had numerous operations/procedures on my anus. The pain was only in the rectum but then over time I started getting it on the vulva and next to the introitus of the vagina. I have had emg studies that verify that I do have damaged pudendal nerves that cause the neuralgia. It also causes some confusion in my body about when I need to go and when I am done too.
To answer your last question, yes, when the fissure is active the spasms are worse. That is why it is so hard to heal when your body is cramping down on the injury which prevents enough blood flow to heal like it should. I can understand your wanting to get a "real" LIS this time. I wanted one but my CRS would not perfom one on me because of the nerve damage I have already. Fortunately my fissure healed but I also had problems with hemorrhoids, skin tags, prolapse etc.
Did you have some kind of injury? Can you tell me more about your history?
Cute kitty-I think this is a forum for cat lovers too!
