Thanks Fiss, I really appreciate all the help, especially after having gone so long trying to play all the guesswork by myself.
Is that your little girl? You always have the most adorable pics.
Also, did you have a lot of pain during the day at different times? Sometimes it feels like a bruise, sometimes like a burn....

Hi Tracy -you are welcome : ).
No, it is not my girl (although I have 2 beautiful daughters ; ), for some reason I don't feel comfortable posting their photos ).
I am so happy though that you like picks I choose : ) !!!! I do spend time finding "the right ones" that express what I feel just than or that symbolically represent myself Image
I had my second LIS in August 08, but also had fissurectomy, 2 tags removed, and 3 internal centennial piles - so my clinical picture is really of no use : (. My first LIS with fissurectomy is now kind of blurry memory, but as far as I can remember - I had some occasional pains during the day - some tiny stubbing here and there out of nowhere , but nothing significant or lasting. I explained it to myself as butt "adjusting" to new "rearrangements" of muscles and nerves ; ) ! You should only worry if pain is constant and accompanied with feeling of malaise and smelly, greenish or yellow discharge.
Hope you will find relief soon Image

Macy -
I just put it on the outside. I ran out of finger cots a month ago and refuse to put my bare finger iin my bum. I am afraid a nail will cut it! Image
I apply it after my shower every morning & evening.
Here is a thread about the coconut oil -

Thanks again guys. I had a good day yesterday without a lot of pain. Today is so so but I always know the fissure is there. Maybe this is gross but I think the barrier ointment just on the outside is helping as I think when I peed, some got around my butt without me realizing it and may have caused irritation. I am going to the health food store today to get the coconut oil I have seen mentioned as well.

Nails or no nails - nothing can fit my butt "outside in" LOL unless CRS does all kind of "maneuvering" and uses lidocaine and a TON of KY Image Baby glycerin suppository is the only thing that can go in and with great patience and stamina Image

Hey Corsi (love the pic, what I wouldn't give to be there!)
I live in FL and try to get the beach as much as possible to relax.
I had surgery at the end of Jan. The first few BM's were very painful with burning but I had to take lots of laxatives due to the pain medicine stopping me up which ended up making my BM'S runny. After the first week they were much better. My pain level has lessened over time but is there everyday. I have no real pain with BM's except for a few minutes of burning and sometimes the ripping feeling. I did adjust the fiber intake, which was causing huge BM's. Now I take 250 mgs magnesium everyday and about 20 grams of fiber and things seem better. I think it's going to honestly heal, but is just taking time, very slowly....

Yes, it seems some of us are healing more slowly than others...we have to be patient.
Where is FL? My experience is that going to the beach spending as much time as possible in the sea is very healthy for the skin and our butts Image I went on holiday with a really bad fissure last summer and I like to think it helped a little.
