Too much rest and relaxation makes things more uncomfortable - I have to move more
I can sooo relate to that !
Go with it Corsi and walk Image put some tunes in and thump those feet :D
I did some swimming today, that felt good Image

Corsi - it is great to hear that you are out and about Image and I agree with Tabby and Kim- if you had any real incontinence problem - it would be VERY apparent and your sphincter will get even stronger as time passes (sorry to break the news LOL). Now, what will happen when you are 89 is really irrelevant , dear Corsi , LOL, you will not even know that it is happening Image !!! OK ??? So, please try to relax silly-willy , and enjoy your new butt that is not in debilitating spasm 24/7 Image .
Weight training LOL, ok , now ...ahmmm... unless you want to go to body-building classes it would be ok . No more than 4 pounds per hand though - or you will push your butt to the limit that you do not want to push LOL. At least, not this early !!!!
Take care Viking -girl and isn't it wonderful that spring came to your door ??? Image Image Image

Hi corsi,
Agree with fissy. Why are you worried what will happen when you are old?even if it does happen, isnt it better than the life with a fissure?try to relax and enjoy your new life.
Take care corsi.Healing is slow for some of us.

I love your avatar, Corsi. That cracks me up big time! I think you need to listen your body and what it needs instead of being in your head. I am not so sure about weight training but there are lots of exercises you can do that use you own body weight for resistance. Maybe pilates? That is fabulous you are out walking.
I want to live now and every day I have and not worry so much about the future. It is hard to do with this banging on the back door but keep walking and the distance will become greater and greater. My grandmother in law had fissure operation and is 94 and still rides a bike and plays tennis so that gives me hope you can get over this and live a normal life with no ill effects when you are older. (She isn't incontinent either btw)

Well Fissy you have said it a few times..."the sphincter will recover its strength". I wonder if mine is doing that now, things have felt more tight the last days and BMs more uncomfortable. Today I was sure it ripped, and I bled...oh happy days!

I understand your frustration girl. How did it go today? Any bleeding and tightness? I know how you hate to use anything but do you think you could still use some movicol? It could be your fissure it still trying to heal and you need more gentleness on your bottom.
I love your doggie daisy.

So sorry Corsi I was right :( ... One of the rare occasions I can honestly say that Image It is just how it is with tight-butt people - if we were not THAT tight we would heal with Botox, creams and /or spontaneously with conservative treatments as normal people do !!!!! 96% of them !!!!!!!! Of those 4 % , 95% heal with diet-cream combo and of that 5 % , 98 % heal with LIS - so you can see in what % I belong, for example LOL, that needed 2 LIS surgeries to heal Image Image Image . I basically had better chance of winning lottery - but nooooooooooo- Fissy won a fissure galore !!!!!
So, just try to relax and take one day at a time and make your poop soft - there is nothing else that we can do Corsi - just take one pain at a time Image
I love your Flower-Doggy Image

That is just going to happen from time to time. Less and less as a year passes. If you know that, you will relax. The real question is, does it cause great pain or hinder your daily activities?
It happened to me over my first year or so. But I am good and you are too, Buddy!

I know flower doggie is so sweet, I love animals...
Thanks Fissy, Tootie & Kim Image
The tightness started Monday. Yesterday and today it has been quite tight. My BMs are really formed and "perfect". I had a ripping feeling today Lecia, but no blood I think. I am happy BMs have been OK since LIS, but I fear that this is changing now... The reason I have cut down on Movicol is that it made things too soft, don't know what to do now.
BMs are bigger too, so it cannot be as tight as before. I am happy I had LIS Fissy because I really felt that it was too tight = would not heal, or if I healed it would retare.
I eat fruit and vegetables with every meal, but not too much I think. I take lactulose with 3 first meals and 1 spoon Movicol and flaxseeds with last meal. I walk 20 - 30 min. every evening. From week 8 it became more comfortable to be more active, but now I have to rest more again.
Maybe I have been to eager to be active, working, being social, etc...I don't like my butt!
Did BM pain disappear straight after LIS for you Kim? (or rather after the one big BM...).
