I have not had to push at all, I'm not constipated one bit, so it's sort of weird that they came out, but I have had a bit of diarrhea every few days for the past week, so maybe that's why?
I'm just plugging away, some days are worse than others, get sore back there, hot showers with the detachable shower head sure helps as do hot baths.
Thank you everybody for your responses!

I agree, some days are definitely worse than others, it could well be the bout of diarrhoea that's made the stitches come out, hot baths are a godsend which I swear by!

Hello everybody!
I just wanted to come on here and post, since I just had my follow-up visit yesterday and am just about 4 weeks post LIS surgery.
My CRS said that everything looks fantastic and I'm healing nicely, no infection or anything and my fissure itself is almost 100% healed. I was ECSTATIC!!!
As for how I'm feeling, I just can not be more thankful for finding this site. I think back all these years and how I ever went this long in pure desperation for a cure. 5 years is just too long to wait for such a relatively easy surgery.
My bum feels pretty darn good right now. Despite the fact that I got a bit of a stomach bug and had diarrhea for a few days. I had some stinging pain, but otherwise, things are slowly starting to return to normal. I did get constipated a few days ago, which had me very worried, but that's because I had gone 3-4 days w/out my Amitiza medication.
I'm feeling pretty good right now. No stinging pain, no sharp pains, sometimes it feels a little raw once in awhile, but other than that, everything seems pretty darn normal.
I never thought I would see the day where I can now look forward to just jumping out bed, sliding into my car, going down a slide at the park or at the pool....w/out fretting about my fissure. I'm so thankful for this site and for my surgery. I truly feel healed and want to thank all of you for your advice and stories.
My best to all of you.

That truly is great news. I'm so happy for you and I can only imagine how liberating it must feel. Do you still take any drugs like stool softeners or are completely free of them?

Congratulations!!
I'm really happy for you. You and your butt will be an example of what's possible, with the right treatment, to us all! Tell me ... What delicious, mouth watering, forbidden foods have you been eating? I know it isn't good for me to wallow like this, but I can't help it. I'm at about three weeks postop and so far I haven't strayed from the fissure friendly foods.

Ha/ha, you guys/gals are funny!
I'm pretty strict with my diet anyways....I'm a high protein, low carb person, so I enjoy "treats" like ice cream or candy every once in awhile, otherwise, I stay away from there. I guess I just figure they aren't good or have no benefit, so why eat them? I know, seems dumb, but that's how I live my life pretty much...I stick to high-fiber foods always, still do 2 liters of water in a day and still have to take my amitiza. For whatever reason, I get constipated, doesn't matter what I eat, so I will probably always have to take amitiza (a perscription that helps u not be constipated....I tried going w/out it for 3 days and got constipated on the 3rd day) ...
Anyway, I don't take miralax and I don't take benefiber anymore, but I actually like the orange benefiber, not a bad idea every 2 days or so.
That's my story, I'm sticking to it! :)
Cheers!

That's fantastic! I find it very encouraging because I've had fissures as long as you have...sometimes when you've had a problem so long you can start to think it can't be cured.
Well, I'll be finding out soon. Finally got my surgery scheduled!

Oh wow, that's super alpine...when is your surgery?
I just had a huge bm this morning....no pain or bleeding but there still is a little soreness afterwards, for about 5-10 minutes and then it's fine. Otherwise, I go in, sit down, it comes out and I couldn't be happier. Yippee!
