Thanks. I am planning to take real good rest which i needed anyway. I kinda waited this surgery to take some good vacation.
With ipad and netflix account, i am ready for total rest. I just need to keep the pain minimum.

Ok, i just got up and taking sitz bath...
I couldn't sleep very well due to pain because i was supposed to take this pain killer every four hours. I could not take it for more than 4 hours because i was sleeping. I tried to go with out taking any pain killer while i was in the bed but i couldn't. The pain was too much. So i took one pain killer at 5 am, then finally i was able to sleep better.
I feel like the pain is already better than yesterday. (slightly)
I had hard time with urinating last night. But it got a lot better this morning too.
Anyway, am i supposed to take pain killer during the sleep time? Like 3 in the morning?

Alpha,
By all means take your pain killers at 3am if needed and you have went 4 hours.
Staying ahead of the pain will help. :)

Ps... I actually set a timer the first night so that I would wake up before the pain set in.

Dawn thank you for the advice. Tnats real good idea.
By the way, this pain killer is giving me nauseness and dizzyness... Hard to take it. Maybe i should try ibuprofen?
Can anyone tell me recommended dosage for ibuprofen?
Not sure how effective it will be.
And my doctor did not prescribe any antibiotics. Is this normal?

Hey Alpha! Today's the first full day of your healing and recovery - congratulations!
The pain killers made me nauseous and dizzy too, as you know (throwing up and pooping at the same time takes special talent!). So I didn't take them when I was alone. They don't do that to everyone - I guess you and I are just unlucky. I used ibuprofen and extra strength robaxecet for the pain. If you use ibuprofen, be prepared for a bit more blood because ibuprofen is a blood thinner. I didn't find that a big deal, just don't be shocked if there's more blood on the toilet paper. that worked for me, but I'm sure others will chime in with very useful pain-management tips.
Doctors don't typically prescribe antibiotics after an LIS (a few folks here got them, but my impression from what I've read here is that most people were not given any). Antibiotics can mess up the digestive system if they are not really needed, so most docs I know don't prescribe them unless they are necessary.
You're on your way to healing! I hope you are doing well today :D

The pain killer i am taking is vicodin. I read drug description and it says to take it with food if nauseness occurs. So i just took one with full lunch. Will see how it goes.

did taking the vicodin with lunch help, Alpha? Food didn't make much of a difference for me with the percocet, but the percocet only made me vomit that one time. I got used to it after the first day and only felt a wee bit woozy. I hope you are feeling better!

No, it didn't make any difference. I think i will try ibufropen next time. Hope it kills enough pain.
