Sweet,
Regarding your earlier post about the Aussie pizza - i have to disagree (I have tried nearly all of them)
The New York wins out (Mozzarella, tomato sauce, crispy smoked bacon, garlic & rosemary roast potatoes, caramelized onion jam, topped with sour cream and smoked paprika).
This pizza was a gift from god!!
In fact i think i may just re-visit again this Friday evening.

Wow, now that sounds a bit spicy for my primitive taste buds, lol.
Nonetheless, have a bite for me! As far as I know, we don't have a pizza place in my city, quite like that.

Congrats Davo!!! :D
So nice to hear that 100% from someone else whose been suffering a long time. It gives the rest of us hope.
i still get stressed and depressed about it. Wish i'd found a supportive doc to hold my hand. But i feel much better than i did when i started the forum. So things are pretty good. Just still being careful etc.
i totally understand about not being on the forum much anymore. Let me just say that i really appreciate all your support! I'd be in such a dark place if not for people like you on this forum.
cheers!

Hi, Tanya! Hope you are feeling better. Yes, this forum is a great place for support, because this condition (AF) is just not understood (or often not known of!) by people who don't experience it, personally.
We all just want all of us to heal - and I know we really feel sympathy for those of us who are going through the worst of it and have not yet healed. --- In my case, I'm much better - still feeling some discomfort in my surgical area, but I'll see the crs again tomorrow, for another post-op check. All in all, I think I'll recover, just fine - at least, that's the hope - but it's been a long journey.
I wish you and everyone here good health and healing. --- SB

Thanks for making such a great diary of events. I truly believe you should be an author. I'd certainly buy your books. Take Care x

Hey there, Davo! How are you doing?
I'm on my trip with my mother and son, and I'm holding up, fairly well. Eating what I want, with no problems, thus far.
That said, I am still sticking to my regime of Fiber One, Konsyl, and a bit of Miralax at night. --- It's good to be on the mend.
Cheers to you!

Hi Sweet,
Ohhh it's going great, I really don't remember what it is like to have a fissure anymore. I have now eaten steak, pizza, chinese, Indian, Italian, etc. I have drank beer, wine, cocktails and have had days without even hardly touching a drop of water yet BM's are just like any other normal person and i don't have any blood, pain or anything.
It's now seven weeks post LIS and the incision wound has taken considerably longer to heal than the fissure itself. The CRS estimated that it should have healed by the 8-10 week and to be honest its nearly there now. Saying that it causes me no bother at all - maybe once a week following a BM i may have about 20 seconds of mild irratation but thats about it.
My CRS told me to stop taking the Movicol a few weeks back and to be honest i no longer need them.
Life is good now Sweet.... REALLY GOOD!!!!
Hope you're well

Thank you, Davo! -- So, soooo glad you're doing so well. :)
My healing has taken longer, but I'm getting there. You wouldn't believe what I've eaten on this trip! - all the foods I love, the dishes my mother has always cooked for me, all my life.
Maybe my fissurectomy made my healing take longer - combined with that setback I had in March - but I have NO more fissure pain, whatsoever . . . just some leftover muscle aching, a bit of tenderness near the surgical area(s) -- and as long as I sit on a pillow, I'm good. --- The crs I'm now seeing (coincidentally, born and raised not far from where my mother grew up - and, in the SAME home town her father was born!) said that because I don't have much meat on my backside, and also because I'm physically narrow and bony down below, a pillow is in order, so to help keep me healing and comfortable.
But, I've been doing pretty good, as long as I watch myself. I took a wagon ride yesterday (bumpy, but I sailed through it!) and have been walking, riding in the car, and moving around all over the place. I've had a bit of tenderness, but not much.
I'm just about there . . . !!
How are your nuptial plans coming along? Hope all is well with you - sure sounds like it is. PLUS, you're eating pizza!!
