So pleased you are doing well. Me Too!! Back to life before AF. Too fast, Too frantic but virtually pain free. Also using Nitro for back up when I have a rough Bm that I think might bring on a spasm. xx

Week 17 wow! Fingers crossed your Botox is still going strong. It's a shame we don't know when exactly it starts or when It stops. I'm still on 3 movicols a day which is crazy compared to yours. Maybe I'll reduce at the end of next month or when I go see my CRS. I've read on a study that 93% of people with Botox (& fissurectomy) healed after 16 weeks so I really hope you're there!
Found this journal that has some great info about some clinical trials.

This part was relevant to you -
The healing rates for Botulinum toxin injection range from 27% to 96%[21,22,24,28,29]. The dosages used ranged from 20 to 25 units. The majority of the cases also hea- led within 2 mo, similar to rates for GTN ointment. No recurrence rates were reported in the studies, though one study reported 30% of patients with non-healing fissures but with symptomatic improvement[24] and another study reported healing in 26.7% of patients after treatment with an additional 25 units[21]. The incontinence rate reported in one study was 18%, with no permanent incontinence occurring[24].

Hey PIA great to hear from you! Glad you are doing so well. Lets keep it like that... Keep us posted. Xxxx
Thanks for the info Welsh, love ya. Botox is my new best friend and I would do anything to get my hands on some more! It can't be that hard to administer it, surely!! Ha ha. My CRS said it can last 3-6 months and there had been one report of somebody getting effect from it for a whole year! I couldn't take 3 Welsh, my IBS would be in overdrive! I think my diet is playing a big role as I am still following FODMAP plan. Good again today, soft bristol 4 formed and soft. I am putting olive oil on everything like it is going out of fashion. C'mon die you evil monsters....

Hi everyone, Thankyou.
OMB, I think that the turn around has only been in the last two weeks or so. Not sure why?! I did think that the Botox would work quicker than it did, but it has really helped. I hope you can start to feel the benefits soon.
No problems today. Still getting that throbbing aching feeling. Can scar tissue cause this feeling?! Lastnight I felt close to normal, and I forgot about all of this for a while. Praying to god as my sphincter muscle does feel a little tighter and I definitely am not pushing, that BM needs to slide out wether it likes it or not! C'mon Die you monsters......

Hi Rachael 1984
Everythings sounds A-OK over here
Remember that the botox increases blodflow to that area so that may account for some of the throbbing or kicked in the but feeling since the tissues are still healing.
Keep fighting Rachel

Hey Rachael,
My first round of botox lasted 8mths so fingers crossed yours keeps on going. I'm so glad your not having many problems except for that throbbing feeling. I think buttastic is right about that feeling your still healing and can happen from time to time.

Rachael... If you are still getting the throbbing from your lady bits... Try supporting your perineum when you have a bm.
Just fold a couple of pieces of toilet paper over and when you have a bm gently, but firmly, support the area of your perineum with your hand. My pelvic floor lady taught me that tip, and I have been doing it for about a year now. I think it really helps.
